I am drawing a blank here even though I have been in both other stores multiple times. Do the Two Omaha market stores currently have a bakery department? I don't remember it.

The Fareway on 168th & Harrison does not have a bakery.

Glad to see Fareway expanding into Omaha; just wish it was closer to me. Best meat department in town.

That is the one that I go to most of the time. Glad I hadn't just missed it.

In fact living in Iowa for 10 years I went to Fairway occasionally there. I cannot remember a bakery dept in any that I have been to.

How close is this to the new Neighborhood Market by Wal Mart that's going at 90th and Lake?

Walmart will be about 5 block south of maple, Fairway will be about 2 blocks north of Maple. Walmart on the east side, fairway on the west side.

Shopped at Fareways since I was a kid in several cities across Iowa. Never seen one with a bakery.

maybe they were miss quoted and meant Bakery shelf not department! Glad I wasn't loosing it totally, at least for a few years yet.

Fareway didn't start accepting credit cards until a few years ago, so they are evolving into the modern era. Still not open on Sundays, though.

Hubs saw trucks and contractors over there yesterday. He also talked to someone at Harbor Freight that said he had seen some movement over there also.

Drove by this morning and they are redoing the facade of the whole strip mall from the Greek restaurant down to the dollar store. With Fareway in the middle of it all.

I am a vendor that calls on other Fareway's in Omaha and they told me grand opening is scheduled for December 5th. Sometimes they do soft openings a few days in advance.

Offical Grand opening news on Fareway website and On the door of the store. December 5th. Drove by last night hoping they were open but not yet.

According to the sign on the door, closed for relocation.

Unfortunate that it's gone, there were some good sales. 170th & Audrey is a little too far. The meat market is still open on 90th & Center.

I was in there a few weeks ago and it looked like it was headed that way. Was a little surprised they closed so fast since they have really started on the 132nd and Fort location yet.

That’s to bad, I was just in that neighborhood yesterday and it’s looking a little tired. Closings like this will probably make it worse. Maybe another grocery store will take its place or the space can be divided up.

Pamida was short lived too. Maybe the rent is too high to suffice business needs.

Drove past today, the land for sale is sign is still up. Still a tractor on the lot too... been there for months.
