Pier 1 Imports to close stores

From the Omaha World Herald business briefs...

Pier 1 Imports Inc. is planning to close about 60 stores in the next year to save $17 million annually, the company announced Thursday.

Asked whether any of the closings would be in Nebraska or Iowa, Misty Otto, Pier 1 spokeswoman said, "We're not disclosing the full list of store closings, because they will be closing throughout the fiscal year and we will announce them as they close."

Hope they don't close the one at VP. That is a really nice store. But when I was in there the other day, they said all the clearance was now 50% of the clearance price. No one was shopping in there that day.

5 of their 7 metro KC stores will also close by late winter.

Did they ever determine when the Omaha area Pier 1 Imports will be closing?

Already have their sale going, 40-60% off, that was over a week ago. Should be closed by mid to late March.
