Frida Kahlo was a Mexican artist of Jewish descent who was very well known during her time. She lived in constant back pain after surviving a bus crash in Mexico, and she used her art to express her incessant pain. In her works, her use of self-portraits is innovative, and the images beg the viewer to understand her agony. She was married to Diego Rivera, arguably the most popular Mexican artist of the 20th century. They were lovers, artists, Socialists, free spirits, and Frida engaged in relationships with women while married to Rivera. I highly recommend you watch the movie "Frida". If anyone is wondering, per the Facebook page, the showroom and lab will be at the Mastercraft. I try going there every Open House but I missed the last one a few weeks ago. I know several artists, and then they do special events also, like a Frida Kahlo reenactment a few years back.

Thank you for posting! The iconic orange arch sculpture that has greeted visitors to Gene Leahy Mall for decades was moved yesterday to Millwork Commons!
When Michael Alley of @apmarchitecture Millwork’s architectural partner, learned the sculpture – also known as the “space frame” – wasn’t part of the Mall’s redesign, he approached the Millwork ownership team about saving it. All agreed there was an opportunity to repurpose a piece of Omaha history and to use the space frame as it was first intended: to mark a new beginning.
The Mall was part of the “Back to the River” movement inspired by Mayor Gene Leahy in the early 1970’s, and the space frame was intended as a gateway. It was designed by Lawrence Halprin, a notable landscape architect, whose firm designed the Mall.
Moving it was no small task, but made easier and cost-efficient thanks to partners @fielddaydev who coordinated with crews working on the Mall. The space frame is 85 feet long and was transported down 13th Street on a flatbed truck!
There are already lots of ideas for how to incorporate the space frame. However, there’s more planning and construction to do before it reaches its permanent home within the neighborhood. Stay tuned!at Millwork Commons by Terry Koopman

There are a couple other sites 'Developing'. I really like this project and hope they make it through this bump in the economic road, especially with the anchor being small businesses.
I can't believe I missed that update. However, based on the release, the Disbrow Block seems to be reserved for office with ground floor retail. The Douglas County GIS lists the northern, larger warehouse as 1201 N 12 St. and the other building has an Izard address. Yeah, for sure. This area will take a while to build out. If my math is right and if you include the proposed building, this block alone will have something close to 200,000 sq. ft. of office space. For reference, Linkedin's building is approximately 200,000 sq. ft. If they land a couple big tenants, they could fill up fast, but that's a big IF. According to the development map on their website, there is supposed to be a fairly large looking garage structure on the corner of Millwork Ave and 14th that is 'Developing'. They will need to resolve this issue as there is currently no bus service to the area, if I am reading Metro's maps correctly, and limited housing options nearby.
I am in the same boat, not fond of the design (except the courtyard, I love that!), but glad there is already residential housing in play. Construction can happen as spring of this year (that would mean it starts this month which sounds optimistic). Parking situation is interesting; will be surface parking in a lot north, which is slated for development in the future, with a reference of a future parking structure that will be in the Commons at some future date. I like that they will have a central parking structure for the district rather than each building having its own. One interesting this that stood out to me is the submission states that the area is well served by public transit. Is that correct?
