Stadiums are really coming along. I think the Concrete bowl is complete on the softball stadium.

I am really impressed with the design. Will definitely go. I know it's bigger but I think this is a much better set up than was Creighton has with TD.

Great pictures Brad. Would have been nice if they included some berm seating in this.

Thanks. I think there is a lot of berm seating along the lines, just not in the outfield.Linkin5 wrote: Sun Oct 18, 2020 9:31 pm Great pictures Brad. Would have been nice if they included some berm seating in this.

I was looking at a weird angle and having to pull back blinds but I am 90 per cent certain it was artificial. It looked like they just started today.nebugeater wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 12:34 pmReal or artificial?Greg S wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 12:25 pm Was at Doctor's appointment today at Think on Center. This looks just incredible. Can't wait to go to some games. Such a game changer for UNO. When you look where they've played recently, Boystown and after, this is such a major upgrade. Can't wait to see where they go from here. Can't imagine there are many nicer facilities in their conference. They now have a truly D 1 facility.

Hopefully baseball will be on this spring and fans will be allowed. I can't wait to be there. This is easily the best facilities in the conference, with the possible exception of Oral Roberts baseball.

Re: Maverick Park - UNO Baseball & Softball Stadiums
While they announced "Tal Anderson Field" and "Connie Claussen Field" a while back, I noticed recently UNO is referring to the Complex as "Maverick Park". Works for me.

State softball championship games moving from Hastings to Omaha
Hastings is losing one of its premier sporting events.
LINCOLN, Neb. — Hastings is losing one of its premier sporting events.
The Nebraska School Activities Association Board of Directors voted 7-1 today to move the state softball championship games away from Hastings to Omaha. State tournament games leading up to the championship games will continue to be played at the Smith Softball Complex in Hastings. The championships will be played at the University of Nebraska Omaha's Connie Claussen Field. The championship games are also moving to Monday to allow for Nebraska Public Media to start televising the games. They had previously been played on Friday. The format changes were approved by a 5-3 vote. “Having the NSAA State Softball Championship games at Connie Claussen Field will give our student-athletes an opportunity to play in a high-caliber championship venue. The venue is TV ready and the live broadcasts will increase the exposure for NSAA softball,” NSAA Assistant Director in charge of softball Dan Masters said in a news release.

Re: Maverick Park - UNO Baseball & Softball Stadiums
AUSL is a pro softball league that launched this year. They aren't playing in host cities but rather playing one series in a number of cities around the country. They are in Omaha this weekend. Sounds like good crowds the first two games, today's game at noon is being broadcast on ESPN2 from Connie Claussen Field.

Re: Maverick Park - UNO Baseball & Softball Stadiums
I think they initially had ticket prices set too high. I believe at $26. A few weeks ago, I got an offer from UNO as a hockey season ticket holder where you could get them at I think it was $12 or $13. Sounds like they sold a bunch once they reduced the prices. I think one of the games was on MLB Network too.iamjacobm wrote: Sun Jul 13, 2025 8:55 am AUSL is a pro softball league that launched this year. After hosting sold-out AUSL softball games in July at Connie Clausen Field, Omaha was NOT selected as a city to have a team this year.
