Not many KFC’s left in Omaha.
Looks like there are 11 KFC’s left in the Omaha metro per my google search..
As I was thinking about a potential local replacement for this location, perhaps a Don & Millie’s would be a good option. There is a location about 2 or so miles down the road off 108th and West Center.. But likely a different demographic..

I think what hurts KFC is it’s not the easiest to eat in your car. So many people now like to get drive thru and eat on the run. Which is easier with McDonalds or other sandwich places.

He!!, Taco Bell is a challenge on that front..
In the end, I didn’t think this aspect has much to do with making or breaking KFC..or any other fast food place for that matter...
I must have ate inside this KFC 300 times at least over the past 25 years. The past few years this KFC has gotten pretty rough and I have found that it is well worth the drive down Center to eat at the one on 180th. I also recommend the KFC on 72nd & Harrison as a pretty good KFC. Stay away from the one in Millard on 136th & Q as that one has always been rough.
The worst thing by far about the KFC on 132nd & Center that always got me was the customers. This KFC is in a nice area so you naturally expect the people that patronize it would be fairly decent and civilized. Not so! Over and over again I would run into crazy people in that KFC. Most of the crazy people were old people. One of the old mens favorite tricks was to steal my newspaper when I got up to go refill my drink or go to the buffet. Another favorite trick of the old people there would be to steal your table when you got up and left it for a second. These old people get it set in their patternistic heads that they have to sit at a certain table and it drives them nuts when someone else is sitting at their special table!
As I stated previously, this KFC always gave off a weird vibe to me.. Not sad to see it go and am very interested to see who eventually sets up shop in this parcel...

I can honestly say I have never been to this KFC, inside or drive through. Guess I need to take it off my bucket list! ;)

Lol. I prefer a Popeyes bucket if I’m going for the quick-fast food fried chicken. My favorite is Time Out on N 30th.. Maybe Time Out can open a west location here. It’ll be a BIG hit ..

I really kind of like the fried Chicken from HyVee. Some people might think that it strange but they are OK to be wrong.

HyVee’s fried chicken is pretty good.. I recently purchased some grilled/smoked chicken from their Linden Market location at 132nd and Dodge and it was very good...
I probably had one of my worst experiences ever at a fast food restaurant at the KFC at 132nd & Center back in early 2019. Absolutely horrible. Horrible food. Horrible service. Horrible food safety standards. Manager that was so burnt out and overworked that she was just numb to problems. What a f'ing trainwreck. So, if that KFC is permanently closed then... good riddance! If someone could also drag the franchise owner into the street and drop kick him that would be great.

None of what you’ve experienced at this former KFC location surprises me at all..
As I’ve stated previously, this was a very sketchy, odd KFC at a great location spot. That it functioned so poorly for so long, speaks more of it’s prime location.. My hope is, whomever comes in to fill the void here, they provide at least adequate customer service. If so, the new store should function very well for years to come...

They went out of business because they were losing money is what I heard. The Covid has been hard on all the KFCs. At the start of the Virus in March they all shut down their buffets and they have now removed them permanently. KFC buffets are another victim of the virus A couple of weeks ago word came down from corporate that they were to close the indoor dining until further notice. Only drive thrus are open now. Heard all this from someone who knows someone who works there.
I have not ate at KFC even once since the pandemic started. It ain't my fault if they did not save enough money to ride the pandemic out. I supported them well before the pandemic and will support them well after the pandemic but during the pandemic its every man for himself.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought you were (like myself) more of a Popeyes fan for fast food fried chicken.. I know nearly 90% of the time, when I go to purchase this fast food item between these 2 places, it’s Popeyes 9 out of 10 times for me...
I loved KFC's Nashville Hot chicken when they did it well... Hard part was finding a location and crew that would do it well at the right time, so more often than not, it didn't work out for me. But that one or two times I had it and it was good, it was great! I just lost confidence in them over time.

I 100% agree with you. When KFC rolled out their Nashville Hot Chicken, the couple times I had it prepared right, it was really good. The few other times though, not so much at all. I remember trying it at this location several years ago, and it was awful..I also remember afterwards wishing I had just went to Popeyes instead, lol...
I prefer Popeye's to KFC, but Popeye's has really neglected West Omaha. I think the furthest west Popeye's is at 132nd & L. Not very convenient when the Omaha metro has stretched out to 230+ street. I seem to recall the local Popeye's franchisee doesn't like building new buildings for his restaurants. He waits for other fast food restaurants to close up and then moves into their space. There are several Popeye's locations that used to be old Taco Bells.

I have gone to Popeyes in Millard at least once a week since they opened in Millard 20 years ago. Popeyes is my favorite by far but I still go to KFC at least once or twice a month as well. I pretty much only eat breasts and will never ever mess with wings. Wings are for the old ladies. The Popeyes in Millard was a Hardees in the 90's and I ate there about 3 times total over a ten year period. I would sooner have chicken any day of the week over hamburgers. I never touch my chicken with my hands either and always use a fork and a knife! Same with pizza.

Cutchall Management Company used to own them. No new locations have opened since transferring the franchise. There needs to be some expansion of the brand for sure. I can't recall when the last store opened. It was either Millard, or when the original location on 40th & Dodge moved to 45th & Dodge.

My usual order from Popeyes- 2 breast pieces, spicy. Regular red beans and rice and a biscuit (sometimes 2 if I’m really hungry)...
