Westbound I-80 lane shift near 84th Street on 7-6-2021

On westbound I-80, approaching 84th Street, all lanes shift to eastbound side on 7-6-2021. Part of the repairs will fix the horrible bumps near 84th.

Looks like they are about to open all lanes for the winter. But next year they are going to resurface the bridge deck.

October 25, 2021 (Omaha, Neb.) — Weather permitting, beginning October 27, all I-80 lanes at 84th
Street and the Big Papio Creek will be open, 24 days ahead of schedule, according to the Nebraska
Department of Transportation.

Iowa Civil Contracting, Inc. of Victor, Iowa, has the $13,987,892 contract. Additional nighttime lane
closures will occur in spring 2022 to complete the bridge deck resurfacing. Anticipated completion is
late spring 2022.

Did they fix that gaping hole in the concrete barrier on the EB lanes, right over 84th Street? As of three weeks ago they hadn't.

It seems much better to me. I don't feel my car launch across a small ramp right there anymore.

Yep it's fixed! Must have been the last thing they did.

Yeah, the road itself is much rougher now, kind of disappointed at the shoddy work on that. But, at least the issues with the expansion joints or whatever that were rising up and blowing people's tires out and knocking cars out of alignment are fixed.
