84th and Center

I take center every day to work and have noticed a few changes, and I wanted to know if anyone knew what was going on here. They are building a new office building which is almost completed on center, which is now right across the street from cosmos, but i noticed yesterday that they tore cosmos down! I am not sure what they want to build there or who the tenant in the new office building is, anyone know?

There is no recent sales information for the cosmos property. FYI its valued at a 1/2 million!

I believe there is going to be a Credit Union built at this site, although I do not know which one.

The 84th and Center area is seeing a lot of redevelopment action right now. You have the old Cozmo's site, the lot across the street from it, Nebraska Organ Recovery is remodeling their building at 8502 West Center, and I heard through the grapevine that one of the many Lund partnerships recently put Better Business Equipment's old building under contract to buy.

Today I took a few pictures of the sign and foundation work at the old Cozmo's site, Northwest corner of 82nd & Center.

They have a website at http://www.omahadouglasfcu.org. It will be the 2nd branch for Omaha Douglas. Federal Credit Union . This will be the 2th Credit Union building on 82nd street.

i believe it was similar to sonic, kind of a 50's feel to it, but was still fast food. I heard they had good food and malts, but never went there.

Few days ago, the external wall frame of the Omaha Douglas. Federal Credit Union went up.
Now, the styleform insulation iscovering the outside.

The pictures below were taken about 10am on January 30th, 2005.

Look from the same spot across the street, looking Northeast toward new building on the east side of street.

The Omaha Douglas. Federal Credit Union has been enclosed, The roof now is going on. The pictures below were taken about 3:45 pm today.

The View looking Northwest from 82th, north of the Cinema Center,toward the new building on the east side of street. Their appear to be little change over the past month.

Yes, why not? There should be some architectural standards for all kinds of development. It is common out here (even in the suburbs) for banks to build attractive buildings.

The bank at the southwest corner of 16th and Dodge has nice architecture.
