I assume something like maintenance is understood on a sculpture like this. Hopefully once the GLM opens in a few months (Memorial Day weekend), they’ll have idiot proofed it’s surroundings with some decent security/cameras…

I agree. I’m certain the city was hoping for an opening before the CWS and it’s a swing and a miss for this year..but I don’t think the “miss” will have too big of an impact. The 4th of July lands on a Monday this year. From what I was told, Walter Scott had wanted some mature trees brought in, but it was upwards of 300,000 per tree to move so I'm pretty sure Lanoha Nursery has supplied all new trees. Agreed 1000% with this. We sometimes wonder why people register on this forum, but then don’t post very often. One reason might be the nitpicking, overblown negativity seen in post contributions here; with increasing frequency over the past couple of years. The Riverfront newsletter is a nice, free source of intel and is much appreciated. I noticed the old orange light fixtures have indeed been refurbished and are arriving for install around the boat cove. As the saying goes, April showers bring May flowers! Increased rainfall over the past two weeks will soon prompt the park to green up and plants to start blooming. Tents will also come down with the presence of warmer weather and scaffolding partly removed, with some remaining for electrical and panel installations. In the Cascades, horizontal granite and pavers will be installed. More light poles and wood decking will be placed, and additional flatwork (decorative concrete) will be poured in the weeks ahead.
