I can get pushed out because I'm "too much" for some. Then, an observer of me comes suddenly swooping in to "fill my shoes." People are always more accepting of the new one, because their feathers aren't truly ruffled by them. (Yawn) I can count on it every time.
I know the owners of Camille's -- from Oakland, a lot of experience in bakeries. Its focus is cakes and pies, an "American bakery," so different from Le Quartier, a French-style bakery.

I've had enough fire in my life. My own fire 2-1/2 years ago and it was my brother that was killed in the house fire almost two weeks ago. I just hate to see anyone, home or business, suffer through one.

That's right. Wishful thinking on my part. Or even better, he'd build a spot between 34th and 36th and Center!
I'm saddened to see such a specialty restaurant gone from our Omaha options. The World-Herald interview indicated the owner said business was great. I'll miss their unique items and friendly service, not to mention the location.
I drive past Countryside Village on Saturday evening and the parking lot was packed. I think that Timber is doing a great deal of business, but so are other businesses in the center area of the Village.

I’ve been told they block off the parking lot between the two buildings on Saturdays and Cedar/Casual Pint have a large temporary patio with live music or DJs.

Word from a Starbucks employee is that this location is closing for good after the on and off COVID staffing issues. Makes sense with the new one going in on Dodge and this being one of the few suburban stores without a drive thru.

My understanding is that the sushi folks will actually have 2 separate concepts in Countryside. Sushi up front in the the old Schwartz space, and then a ramen joint in the middle row (feeding from the same kitchen).

Agree! My friends and I went to The Casual Pint last Saturday, we’re in our early 30s and found it to be a really nice time. We talked about how we felt old and not interested in going to the typical busy weekend area spots we usually had gone to on the weekends. Casual Pint was busy but felt very relaxed. It felt like a good spot for non weekend warriors in their 30s. (I hope that makes sense)

OmahaCowboy and I call it "Starbucks for Beer Drinkers". Just a nice warm inviting atmosphere.
My girlfriend and I are double 30 and feel like we fit in there. The 5 oz pours allow me to try 3-4 beers without getting over the line. Fun place. Whole lot less political than Starbucks and honestly, anymore I don't go to the bucks because I am tired of feeling like I am unwelcome.

Cheers is funny because the other day my son and I stopped in so I could grabbed some beers to go. After talking to several people he says "Daddy, do you know everyone here?"
May be Starbucks isn't the best reference, but just the casual atmosphere. nice warm lighting, and not all the TV's and Neon like a regular bar, just a comfortable neighborhood place.

Casual Pint is definitely that.
Perhaps this thread could morph into a listing of comfortable neighborhood places?
I will start with the Rusty Nail on 144th and Pacific. Delicious food. Good drinks menu. Nice people.
The Report In Pub on 120th and Center is another good spot. Delicious food. Great beer menu. More sports, but they also have the CHIVE TV channel, so there is more to watch. Staff is friendly and good atmosphere.
