Looks like the proposal for the house and lot on 40th and Harney is a demo and build a small building >800 SF with the rest being a huge outdoor patio.

I agree. these elevated patios are cool. Maybe they'll be a fad, I don't know. But I think they're cool.

I'd be shocked if they're a passing fad. They've been around for awhile in many cities, we just haven't seen many. Granted the months of usefulness are fewer here than in many other warmer locales.

“A new restaurant, beer garden and event space — price tag about $4 million — would be added to the western edge of the Blackstone business district under a plan submitted to the City of Omaha.

Developer JAT Ventures LLC wants to build a 3,500-square-foot restaurant with 4,000 square feet of outdoor space, and an adjoining structure containing 3,000 square feet of event space.

The event space is to be called the Holm and used primarily for overflow seating and catered events, including weddings.”..
