Places to eat after a show at the Orpheum

Should have asked this last night, but my wife and I went to the Mannheim Steamroller concert at the Orpheum, which got out around 10 o’clock and we tried to go find someplace to eat, yes, I know it was really cold, but it was a Friday night and it’s kind of embarrassing that everything was completely dead.

We first went to the Burlington league and they said that they just closed their kitchen. Half of the places in the old market looked like they were completely closed as well and we didn’t feel like getting out and walking around since it was so cold.

We then tried Rathskeller, and they told us the whole place closed at 10 o’clock. It’s crazy that in a city the size of Omaha on a Friday night nowhere was open to serve food at 10 PM.

We ended up going to King Kong and actually had really good food there so it was worth it but any other places that somebody can think of in a situation like this?

To be fair a lot of places have been closing early this week with the temps..

That is probably my #1 pet peeve with Omaha’s dining scene…it doesn’t exist after 10 pm! We fly in frequently about 9:30 pm and by the time we get our bags and into a vehicle it is after 10 pm and knowing our fridge is empty we want to grab something decent to eat and there is basically NOWHERE to go downtown or midtown. Even the groceries are closed up! It’s terribly embarrassing.

The Verdict Bar & Grill on 19th and Harney serves food until 11PM Tue, Wed, & Thu and until 2AM Fri & Sat

Thanks for the input....we did try several places that night after the show, I get that it was extremely cold out but 3 different places had already closed their kitchen or altogether.
