Agreed that GC calling itself a brewery was a bit of a stretch, especially given the modern local craft brewery scene. I was also put off by the fact that when I went (5ish years ago) half of their beers were just mixtures of their core 4 beers. As breweries go it was a bit of a joke. As a restaurant I didn't mind it, but if I'm just wanting to hang out in a brewery or a beer bar then GC is pretty far down the list.

I bought my wife a $100 gift card from her favorite salon for Christmas. They said I got a free gift. It ended up being way more than expected. It was a $30 git card to Granite City, A Growler jug, GC socks, and a GC hat. I couldn't believe it because it was easily a $60 value for buying a $100 gift card...now I get it. I better use that Gift Card quickly.

During this time of Social Distancing, don't forget your local breweries. I know a few (if not all) have created a way for you to pick up some of their beer or a gift card - just not able to drink it there.

I am getting ready to head out to two of them close to me -- one is doing their cans and crowlers.... pick up at their door. The other is refilling your growler. They are both small brewers and the growler one has only been open a couple of months and I think they are really worried as all the money they have invested.

I was at the Bearded Brewer soft opening on Friday. The Dream Bar pastry stout is a pretty awesome brew. He's also got a bunch of interesting seltzers, including a pina colada smoothie version which is pretty unique and will fit the West O demographic pretty well. Blueberry sour was also pretty solid.

There are a handful of more brews still finishing in the tanks, so expect the lineup to grow. Certainly a nice addition to the Omaha brewery scene. I expect him to do well...

The company’s owners do want to emulate something other breweries, like Kinkaiders, have done in the past and start distributing their beers. Initially, they just want to get the Flyover name out and sell their products in the larger markets of Lincoln and Omaha. You're welcome. I think most of the breweries seem to find the perfect following, cater to certain parts of town, and some work the social media very well. They also did great during the pandemic keeping beer in the hands of their fans.
