Well, appears you won't be able to get your "feels" from the local shops anytime soon.

Re: Killing the Buzz
That area could use a little more regulation and oversight/testing. I'm friends with a lady that has terminal breast cancer and she was hospitalized last year for THC overdose and the doctors told her the edibles vary wildly in THC content and the description on the bag can't be relied on. So, if the last bag was "weak" don't assume the current bag is too even if it's from the same manufacturer.

Re: Killing the Buzz
It's been several years since I've partaken. I didn't like it anymore, it gave me extreme anxiety and would make my heart race and I would just lay in a restless prison of my own body until I thankfully fell asleep. Not a religious man by any stretch, but that stuff had me praying to god that I would come back to earth or die, whichever would make it stop sooner. And I really don't know why it started to affect me that way because I used to use it every day no problem. Well anyway, I was intrigued about a year ago when I learned about 50 shades, so I bought a couple spliffs. And much to my surprise, I don't know if I had become a real lightweight by that point, but I got high as a kite after only half a joint. And similar to my prior experiences with the real deal, it was not a pleasant experience.
To me this just shows how the industry needs to be regulated. It sounds like it's a real crapshoot as to how strong it's going to be on any given day. I'm all for legalization of the real thing, but also regulation. Like for one, I think its a real joke that they mostly make the dosage in the form of a brownie, cookie, gummy, etc. I know they make it in capsules and tablets, but I don't think that's how most edibles are consumed.
Main thing for me is, if you want to smoke to get high, just admit it. So many proponents of cannabis focus of the medicinal side of it, which there are plenty of uses, but like, look at em. High as a kite from breakfast to the midnight snack. And that was actually me for a while.
I just want it to be totally legal. So just like there's liquor stores, and bars that sell booze, it should be the same for Marijuana. BUT if I actually want it for its medicinal effects, it should be something you can get a prescription for and it be highly regulated and get it from an actual pharmacy.

I think you just hear from those proponents most vocally. People who smoke for the enjoyment aren’t going to be sticking their face in the camera as openly.

I do get amusement out of the CBD proponents. CBD is the Snake Oil of the 21st Century. Sure, it has its uses, I'm not trying to claim it has NO medical uses, but to listen to those zealots talk it's the cure for EVERYTHING.Busguy2010 wrote: Thu Aug 17, 2023 1:36 am So many proponents of cannabis focus of the medicinal side of it, which there are plenty of uses...
I have a nephew like that. I was giving him |expletive| about it the other day, "What are you going to do when recreational marijuana is legal in all 50 states and you realize your entire personality for the last 10 years has been 'make pot legal'?"Busguy2010 wrote: Thu Aug 17, 2023 1:36 am High as a kite from breakfast to the midnight snack. Re: Killing the Buzz
I know im a broken record at this point. But I have a new neighbor(s) that smokes weed 6am to 12am, 7 days a week. It's exhausting, I don't know why, or how they do it.
As a former user, now even just the slightest whiff of the stuff gives me an immediate jolt of adrenaline, and just anger. Like seething ANGER. Because I dont want that stuff in my body anymore. Every day I get a "good morning" whiff of weed no matter if i have my windows open or not.
I used to be a proponent of this stuff. And I don't know if it's because younger people are starting to use it or because it's becoming more "accepted", or if they just dont get how extremely offensive it smells, but it seems to me people have zero respect for their surroundings.
It's not a matter of it being medicinal if they take a rip every 30 minutes. They're running from something, and it's something we call a "problem". Whatever is ailing them, they don't need to be THAT high to fix it.
I'm all for marijuana's medicinal purposes. I just don't want to use it, and I don't want to be exposed to it unwillingly. I don't know what it is now, you smell it literally everywhere. Vaped or smoked. It's just illegitimate, its a guise. They just want to maintain their high anywhere anytime. Would they maintain their habit if it helped their ailment, but didn't get them high? I really doubt it.
I used to be all for this stuff, like hey, sure, you had a long day, you earned the right to rip a bowl and enjoy the last couple hours of your night. Thats in bounds. But lately I find it's use to be outwardly abundant, inconsiderate and shameful.
We at least didn't used to do it at the crack of dawn or for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and midnight snack every single day.
And can't dare bring it up as you always get the feigned response that "you need to take a rip, smoke a joint, chill bro, etc"
I dont get it. I hate the stuff anymore.
I can't be the only one. Anybody else?

Re: Killing the Buzz
Just an exhaustion rant:
I live in a fairly dense and integrated neighborhood. I feel I'm literally physically sick, I believe, from smelling second hand marijuana ALL. THE. TIME. I don't get it man, as a former smoker, we used to have etiquette. We didn't want to get caught, we didnt want to feel shame, or bother anybody else. We didn't do it at the crack of dawn, or repeatedly all day, or heck, most the time we didn't even do it until sundown.
But now, literally every single time I open my windows, go outside, drive in traffic, enter any establishment, go to a gas station, there it is. It reeks. Every single day. I feel its as bad or worse than tobacco smoke.
I think it's the vape pens and younger generation. Its become way too easy to just take a quick sip of your vape pen, whenever, wherever, and get away with it.
They just dont care anymore...
Like, what's the root of the dam problem? I know cannabis has medicinal properties that can help a lot of people. But like come on. You ain't sipping that vape pen all day cause you have anxiety, depression, or whatever. It's an absolute guise.
I can 110% guarantee almost everybody who is constantly "medicated" wouldn't do it if it helped their ailment, but didn't get them high.
Like, if you really, really needed it for your health, you wouldn't be screwing around at the gas station, Walmart, fast food locations, the park, etc.
If I had a ballot in front of me right now, I would vehemently vote NO. Close down 50 Shades, Cannabis Factory, THC dispensary, etc.
You gotta go to a doctor, get a prescription, go to a pharmacy, check all the boxes.
I can almost guarantee, like 2%, if? Would actually go to that trouble.
Sigh... As a person who used to get high off weed every day, even though I quit like 7 years ago, its just incredibly frustrating to be seemingly increasingly exposed to it second handedly every day. It didn't used to be that prominent in public.
I'm embarrassed to say I was under the influence long as I was, but they seem to be proud about nowadays. I don't get it.

Re: Killing the Buzz
I think that is extremely frustrating for someone that doesn't want to deal with it. It makes going to any major city where it is legal also frustrating. We went to Vegas a few years ago and you'd smell it constantly and if you don't want to smell it, you don't have a choice. Just driving around Denver and anywhere near a dispensory and you will have to smell it. It definitely is more prevelant than cigarette smoke as not nearly as many people even smoke cigs anymore.
It is still illegal here and probably will be going into the next decade or two. Perhaps legalization would make it so they don't feel like they have to do it just at home, but of course you'll then have to smell it all the time walking around the old market, aksarben, dundee, blackstone, etc. regardless of the regulation they pass saying you can't do it there. Maybe legalization would give them access to more edibles instead of having to inhale.
Either way, I do feel for you and no one should have to constantly smell things like that. It'd be no different than you directing a large fan towards your neighbors and just passing gas constantly or rather buying a vial of liquid |expletive| and having that just simmer behind the fan.

Re: Killing the Buzz
As a former user, I really do believe it has medicinal properties. I just don't think smoking, vaping, or even edibles are a legitimate way to administer it. If youre doing any of those, youre just chasing the high. I would definitely support legitimate research on it, and if it we're administered by tincture, capsule, or gel, or whatever, and by prescription and from an actual pharmacy.
I remember when it was first legalized in Colorado, I went to some place. It obviously was just a dispensary, but the crew wore white coats as if they're actual pharmacists. I mean, I get where they're going with that, but come on. I just find the whole principle to be very, very cheeky.
The root of my hatred is that I don't want to be exposed to it, but I don't have a choice in the matter. The cr@p is everywhere.
And I just hate that people are so nonchalant about it nowadays, like as if everybody's cool with it. You can't go out in public or even live on your own property without smelling it.
I just don't understand the root of the problem. Why do people want to be high 100% of the time? I dont know how they do it. I get, hey, you put in your day of work, class, got all your chores done, getting ready to lay down for the night and put on a movie, you earned a rip or two. That's fair. But that's not the reality.
The people using it so often are taking it out of context, that they're literally just addicts. But they think "its just weed", so they think its acceptable.
I don't know where we went wrong. I'll probably have an underlying rant about it the rest of my life.
