Big 10 May Force Notre Dame Fighting Irish to Join!

The Big 10 may force the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to join its conference before long. Despite Notre Dame's stubborn desire to remain steadfastly independent, the TV money may get too big to ignore.

It would have only made too much sense geographically. Only they are tied to the ACC until 2036 or something and there's like a 120 million dollar buyout.

The Domers aligning themselves with the ACC was the worst thing possible for both entities.

It is optimistic, but I think there's also a very small chance they could start 4-0. Minnesota could be a trap game for both teams to start the season. We really don't know how Colorado will be. Assuming Louisiana Tech and Northern Illinois at home will be wins, but I wouldn't bet on it. I'm hopeful, but not too optimistic that they could start 4-0 and host Michigan for a pretty big game in Lincoln. I also don't rule out the possibility they go 1-3 or 0-4 to start. We shall see.

Michigan State Football Coach Mel Tucker Suspended

Michigan State suspended Spartans football coach Mel Tucker for an inappropriate phone sex call with rape victim and sexual assault victims advocate Brenda Tracy. She says the call was not consensual. He said it was.

Tracy had been hired to speak to the Spartans football team about sexual violence. It appears the university knew about the accusations but only suspended Tucker after the story came to light when USA Today broke the news to the public. It is likely Tucker has coached his last game for the Spartans after signing a 10-year 95-million dollar deal in 2021.

Elsewhere we discuss the past weekend, where Coach Prime Deion Sanders and his Colorado Buffaloes exposed Matt Rhule and his massive quarterback problem for the Nebraska Huskers.

We also cap off week two with our Big 10 Top 10 on Locked on Big 10 with Craig Shemon.

There is a lot that came out in a statement by Tucker and his Lawer on Monday that adds a second side to this story. If what the statement said is backed up with the evidence that was claimed, this may not be as cut and dry as it first seamed.

Will B1G Commish Tony Petitti Punish Jim Harbaugh Before NCAA?

Will Big 10 Commissioner Tony Petitti step in and punish coach Jim Harbaugh and his Michigan Wolverines football program for the SpyGate controversy? Or will he let the NCAA investigation of this matter run its course? As Commissioner, there are things he can and cannot do according the Big Ten bylaws. We will analyze his options and weigh the pros and cons. Bottom line, we don't think anything will happen before this season is over and therefore the Michigan football team will continue its drive toward a Big Ten Championship, College Football Playoff appearance and a National Championship.

Urban Meyer Rumors to Michigan State Remain;
College Football Playoff Poll

Urban Meyer rumors about him taking the Michigan State Spartans coaching job keep simmering. Why? After all, he publicly denied his interest in coaching multiple times. Because he's Urban Meyer, that's why. He's a human version of play-action pass. Fake the run and throw the ball. He's always kept people guessing about whatever is inside his head.

B1G Coaches turn on Michigan Football Coach Jim Harbaugh

Big 10 football coaches reportedly demanded Commissioner Tony Petitti jump into the Michigan Wolverines SpyGate investigation the NCAA is conducting and do "something." Something means punishment.

During a weekly conference call between Petitti and the Conference coaches, Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh hung up after regular business so the others could speak freely about Michigan. The conversation tone became heated and emotional. Many fear the NCAA investigation will take too long and Michigan will have an unimpeded path to a Big 10 title and possibly a national championship. The coaches asked Petitti to punish Michigan on behalf of the Big 10.

Stay tuned.

thing is, Michigan is very talented, so why cheat? Someone is always going to find out, so why risk it? They weren't going to be getting rid of Harbaugh if they go 11-1 or 12-0 and lose in the championship, especially being competitive on a national level and beating Ohio State. Now he just looks like an |expletive| hole and the program is tainted

Big 10 Commissioner Suspends Jim Harbaugh 3 Games

Big 10 commissioner Tony Petitti suspended Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh for the rest of the regular season for the school's alleged involvement in an on-site scouting signal-stealing scandal. Petitti says the suspension is for breaking the conference's sportsmanship clause. Harbaugh will be able to continue coaching the team except on game days. The three games Harbaugh will miss will be Saturday's game vs the Penn State Nittany Lions, next week's game vs the Maryland Terps, and the season finale vs Ohio State.

The NCAA investigation into this same matter has barely just begun and Michigan is accusing the Big Ten of a rush to judgement without due process. Harbaugh and the school have asked a judge for a restraining order which would allow Harbaugh to return to the sidelines.

BREAKING: Michigan Coach Jim Harbaugh to Serve Full Suspension

Michigan Wolverines football coach Jim Harbaugh will serve the remaining two games of his three game suspension handed down by Big 10 Commissioner Tony Petitti for the Spygate-sign-stealing scandal. Harbaugh and the University of Michigan were scheduled to appear in court Friday morning for a hearing with the hopes that the judge would issue a stay, allowing Harbaugh to return to the sidelines immediately for Saturday's game against the Maryland Terps and next week's season finale against the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Michigan agrees that the legal case vs the Conference is settled. Harbaugh will serve his suspension and the Big Ten will no longer pursue its investigation into this matter. It should be noted the NCAA investigation into this matter is on-going.

With that as a backdrop, Saturday has a full slate of exciting Big 10 games on the next-to-last weekend of the regular season. Stay tuned for all of the latest news on Locked in Big 10 with Craig Shemon.

So, watching the Michigan - Ohio State game and seeing a future conundrum ready to play out. This game has a strong tradition of being the final game of the year, it is for sure next year. With the Big 10 switching the championship next year to "the two best teams", I could see them playing two weeks in a row. I could see that happening easy for the foreseeable future for the conference. I can see that get pretty boring for fans, so I wonder if the Big 10 would come in and say "you can't play on the last week anymore" and how the schools would react. Michigan and Ohio State run the conference and I see it taking a while and a mountain climbed before we see a newcomer in the championship game.

Round Robin, except all teams don't play each other. So I see it being unfair in some ways. Although every team will have its "lucky year" where they play mostly weaker teams.

Nows a good time to post the schedule

Vs UTEP
Vs Colorado
Vs UNI
Vs Illinois
@ Purdue
Vs Rutgers
@ Indiana
@ Ohio State
Vs UCLA
@ USC
Vs Wisconsin
@ Iowa

I'm not sure which games are wins yet because I always think there's gonna be surprises and let downs. But I expect 8-4.

Florida State Will Jump to Big 10 Within Month!

The Florida State Seminoles could bail on the ACC and join the Big 10 "within the next month," according to one weekend report. Blue Bloods Bias was the source. However, it should be noted the Florida State Board of Trustees has been discussing such a move since last summer and the Florida State President went so far as to request an ACC exit strategy by the end of the year. The Florida State football snub from the College Football Playoffs after completing an undefeated ACC Championship season only highlights the Seminoles' desire to leave the ACC. The fact remains that the school's departure from the ACC has been a financial necessity for some time. Other conferences are far more lucrative than the ACC. The Big 10 seems like the most likely destination for Florida State. Questions remain, like how soon could this happen and what other ACC school comes with them to the Big 10?

That really supports the idea that it's the SEC vs the Big10. Eventually the Big10 will add more and more teams while the SEC at some point said something along the lines of "were not expanding, we want to keep our teams quality". Eventually being outnumbered will outweigh "quality" Big10 will be sitting at 32 some odd teams while the SEC is stuck at 16 facing the prospect of their own conference being engulfed by the Big10. We may eventually only have one nationwide conference, and they will decide how the champion is crowned. It would be different, but I think it would be better than what we have now.

Agree with this statement. Would love to have all the conferences merge and go back to a regional system but that seems years away. Between the Huskers struggling, NIL, and lack of parity the college (semi pro) football game has me uninterested. Hope that at least more media dollars can go to Lincoln though.
