Fareway announces plans to open new 21,000-square foot location in Valley



VALLEY, Neb. — announced plans to bring a new location to Douglas County. The approximately 21,000-square-foot grocery store will be in Valley, near N 270th and E Meigs streets. In a statement, officials said Fareway is “finalizing due diligence and plans to close on the property in early 2024.” “We are excited to be coming to Valley, as we believe it’s a seamless addition to the Fareway family. Communities depend on a local grocer to offer high-quality products and unmatched service. Fareway values the communities and people it serves, and we look forward to building a new Fareway store for Valley,” Reynolds W. Cramer, Fareway CEO, said in a statement. “We feel this is a perfect fit for Fareway and are excited to continue to grow in Nebraska.”

My buddy who lives in Ginger Woods could not be happier about this news. The Valley area is loaded with expensive new homes, and more being built all of the time. But the town has a dearth of shopping and dining options.
