I was pretty disappointed with the Toyotas. What they did pitting early all together really shook up the race and made it really interesting. Only to have them wreck each other.

Lol. Good for Ricky. I think everybody around the sport probably wanted to take a swing at Kyle Busch at some point. I love how this is assault in almost every other setting, but here, it's just racin', boys. Deal with it.

Though I wanted Truex to win, I thought it was comical how he creeped across the start/finish line using his starter motor.

It was super entertaining though! For a race that was as boring as watching paint dry for 400 laps, that made up for it!

ICYMI, NASCAR stripped Austin Dillon of his playoff eligibility for the move and suspended him for enough races to not compile another win... so it was all for naught. He still gets to keep the "win", but it doesn't come with the playoff eligibility.

Right, I read that wrong. So, I wonder if Dillon's playoff eligibility is entirely stripped, or just for that win. If he somehow manages to win one of the next couple races, would they count it for a playoff spot?

Yep, he wins another race and he is back in. NASCAR removed the points stipulation a couple years ago.

Yeah, I know it's win and you're in. I just wasn't quite clear if his playoff eligibility was completely stripped for the whole rest of the season no matter if he won again. It would make sense to me if he manages to win again he should be in. I don't think it'll happen. Hamlin and Logano won't let it happen, that's for sure.

Incredible performances by Shane van Gisbergen, also known as SVG. A multi- time Australian Supercar champion from New Zealand. Won his first ever race in NASCAR, and continues to absolutely dominate the road races. And he's a crowd favorite! I think he's won 5 of the last 7 road courses.

I'm in a book, and I haven't, and probably never will bet against him on a road course.

It'll be cool to see how he can put it together on upcoming ovals to close out the season. He's well positioned to have a shot at it. Very likeable guy too. If i'm rooting for anybody at this point, it'd have to be him.

I really appreciate NBC's production of this race at Daytona. It seems like they, for the most part know to STFU when the cars are flying by. FOX does their crank it up for like a minute, and they dumb down the trackside audio. So far, I'm liking the production tonight. Im here for the cars, not the talking dammit. So far very satisfied.

About the best race (production) ive seen in a while
