Funny enough. The Juice Stop a mile north on Hwy 6/31 in Gretna is closing due to lack of sales.

Interesting. Jamba Juice has some clout though, particularly if you're from an existing market. I think it will do well at NEX.

My initial reaction was that "juice Stop" was healthy but upon looking at their menu. That wasn't the case. Juice Stop is a sugary filled menu of smoothies, no different than a fast food restaurant.
What was healthy and closed down, was "Lettuce Express"; now replaced by a southern steak style restaurant.
Any new word or update on the potential LEGO store?
I find it extremely odd they'd fill the storefront with LEGO-branded promotional materials yet everyone is acting like they're hiding nuclear codes.
I did have another thought - perhaps they're "testing the waters" to see how much interest the signage generates to see if they feel there's potential for a store? To me this seems like a stretch... a company like LEGO that probably spends a good million or more to open a new store likely won't rely upon people asking if there is a LEGO store coming to determine if it's a good location.
Going back to the idea that is in fact happening I believe the games they play where they won't admit anything is quite silly and a bit pointless.

The LEGO company sent the window marketing material to be put up when the announcement was to be made. Someone screwed up and put it up in the windows ahead of the planned date. There are other activities scheduled around the real announcement, so they are remaining silent until the originally planned date.
And the last piece is that maybe there is a former NEX employee now looking for work.
On a side note, I was out there last weekend, and the window decals are up in all their glory.

So they didn't take the graphics down - which I suppose makes sense if the announcement is imminent. Either way it would have probably looked a bit awkward to have them up and then remove them within a few days' time.
I used to have an "in" at NEX, but not anymore.
I did find one thing on their site that they may want to fix - their adamant about not being referred to as an "outlet mall" any longer. And, I can appreciate why given the types of stores they're starting to get. However, this is what their website shows on their "about" page:

The window graphics could simply be an advertisement, too. I remember a couple of years ago, an empty storefront was covered in Peloton graphics and enthusiasts (like my wife) got very excited that a retail location was imminent. It was not. NEX was simply selling available window space as a giant billboard.
This could be a similar deal -- and Lego has been running a lot of outdoor advertising (billboards, etc.) in Omaha over the last year, so it's not a stretch to think this could just be an extension of a larger media buy. Hence the silence from Lego corporate. They're getting free pub above and beyond whatever they spent on those graphics the longer people ask questions!
That said, I'd love to see a Lego store at NEX. The specific storefront where the graphics are is kind of a strange placement, but the mall itself is a great fit IMHO.
I got an alert that today via the app (10/27) is the grand opening of a Croc's store at Nebraska Crossing. Missed this as a coming soon store somehow. According to their updated map, they are located next to Puma and across from Merrell and Sperry

FYI I've tried reaching out to the NEX Crossing people via their FB messenger asking if they know anything about a LEGO store coming to their mall... no one has responded. I've asked them multiple times. So I don't know if they're simply ignoring the question or maybe they simply don't actually pay attention to messages they get.

Anyone know why the Tecovas store closed? I thought I saw on this forum something about a lawsuit against NEX. Have been wondering what sort of dispute could have risen to that level. That was a great store from an expanding brand that fit nicely with the other retailers at the mall.

They had it in their newsletter on 4/11 that it would be opening this month. Any idea if it is even close to opening? I have seen nothing online other than people mentioning the 4/11 newsletter.

Does anyone have information/update about when the cash back system will be back online? My wife accumulated some that can't be used. She asked NEX customer service and they claim that currently you can earn but not redeem, but eventually you will be able to. It was one of the reasons we would go there, however infrequent it may have been. It was problematic to use, at least in our personal experience, when it was available. Just hope they can right the track.

Pendelton Retailer filed a week ago for $77,000
and Tuesday this week Mulhalls filed a lawsuit for $450,000.
That brings the current lineup of active lawsuits against NE Crossing to 4 and counting:

I'm assuming both of the garden/landscape companies are related to grounds maintenance? Wonder what the main issues are here... mismanagement of funds, or something more along the lines of someone that doesn't want to pay somebody?
Makes you wonder how they can land big retailer exclusives such as LEGO, Yeti, REI, etc when they have things like this going on. I also personally feel the cashback rewards thing is going to get them into a lot of hot water and probably should just be dumped. They claim it's a systems issue, but based upon things like these lawsuits makes me think it's simply a matter of not wanting to honor what they've promised.

I visited Nebraska Crossing this weekend for the first time in maybe three or four years. The additions of REI and YETI are impressive. But what stood out most to me was the landscaping. Wow. What a difference the trees and art throughout make. It'd be a real shame if Lanoha/Mulhalls/Etc. weren't paid for their services, because it truly feels like NEX upped their game with these improvements throughout the mall.
Easy to upgrade when you you just decide to not pay the bill.
The truly scary part is that if Lanoha and Mulhalls are owed over $445k each this would definitely include the work they do for the common area maintenance of the crossing. Common Area Maintenance is also know as CAM which is attached to every tenants lease cost. This means he was taking tenant money and not spending on what tenants are paying their money for..

Costs a lot of $$$ to wine and dine the NHL trying to convince them to drop a franchise in Omaha (that won't happen...)

You never know. Somehow, Oklahoma City has a NBA team. Columbus, Ohio, has a NHL team. So, it's possible....

Helps that Columbus didn't get hit with heavy population declines like other cities in the area because its economy was tied to the state government and the university instead of around manufacturing

I'm cool with this. It's certainly better than a Panera. I always liked their Chicken Walnut Salad sandwich. I hope it has better luck than Burger Star, Big Cheese, Local Beer Patio + Kitchen, and B&G Tasty Foods did.
