Does anyone have any idea about what is going in next to the Walmart in Gretna? Looks like they've laid a foundation. Any ideas?

According to a Gretna city council meeting, some kind of commercial truck sales and service facility.

They got Wickersham boulevard freshly paved all the way out to S 168th st. I would assume the rest of that farm land will be turned into lots.

I think the original plan (20 years ago) was for a Menards there, but plans change. Though, there's lots of land around there, so who knows?

I know they had to connect Wickersham Blvd to 168th for emergency access before they could build much else.

The Wickersham Blvd/Sapp Bros Dr/I-80/Hwy 370 intersection(s) are already a mess with too much traffic. That last thing it needs is another large retailer. Maybe they can bulldoze Walmart!

Maybe Wickersham going out to 168th will clear some congestion? Just shut down the 370 entrance lol

I am 99% sure that the proposed Mendard location that didn't pan out was along 370, where the tree farm was. This would have been the SW corner of 370 and 168th St. This was talked about, and I believe they had an option on the land before The Walmart and Wicksham were around.
