Parking lots under interstate I-480 improvements

I really like that they are completely redoing these parking lots with all new pavement, lights and landscape. Huge improvement.

I thought there was talk of removing 480 downtown & making it a surface street?

Yes, glad you commented on it. When we went down for the Labor day parade I noticed that as well. A huge improvement from what it has looked like for the past 15 years. By improving that area and Sols moving out, the area near/under the interstate looks much better!

Yes, there was talk of that, although, I don't if that was just a long-term goal or actually something in the works. From what I understand, it was a thought for down the road.

Yeah, it was a long term vision for the city, and at that time, they had never talked to the Nebraska DOT about it.

Probably more of a thing that would happen when 480 is at the end of its useful life, which I'd assume could be quite some time, so to make improvement like this is a good thing.
