It has only been going up 1 floor each time with the slip form since May.
Ah ok, I totally didn't realize that.

So then in a few weeks, it will officially/finally be the third tallest in omaha

Too bad they haven't announced anything on any of the other potential high rises

Yep. currently about 6th. UP, Elmwood, and the AT&T building should be passed by the EOY.

Some odds and ends that might get us in that direction.

MoO's campus.

14th and Dodge.

Civic site.

Police / Fire HQ.

10th and Harney?

Conagra campus-ish.

100%

We're not even halfway through the decade, and it's already clear that the 20s will go down in Omaha history.

Our new tallest building, the gene leahy mall redevelopment, the streetcar system, and a massive airport expansion project will all be completed by the middle of the decade.

Couple that with 1-2 potential skyscrapers, a massive hospital being announced or maybe even completed by 2030, and robust population growth, you can see just how influential the next few years will be.

I am sure it is just an oversight. But you didn't mention the massive strides MegaSaver has made this decade. Just chiming in for others.

They actually have come a long way going from dumpy and shady to nice, somewhat respectable stores. And the burner market…

Going off topic slightly but:

I was out west last week, and stopped by the Ace on 84th and Center. The Megamart is right there.

I did not go in, but from the design if all our gas stations were more like that I'd be pretty happy.

Not a good photo since the light was getting low, but here is the crane from 72 & Center. Not quite as tall as the woodman yet, but its also on lower ground than the woodman. Hard to see in this photo, but the tip of the blue crane is visible too.

Great shot! It really puts in perspective as to where MoO Tower’s placement in the skyline will be from that vantage point.

what are the odds that the blue crane is replaced by a tower crane once the garage is complete, or can this be finished with just the yellow one?

I have no idea, but I just assumed that the blue crane would be going up with the tower as well.

The one close to the interstate is Pioneer Courage Park, so that's probably not going anywhere anytime soon.

Wouldn't we all! The only one of the three with anything documented is the one on the right - the former Civic site. White Lotus is planning a development there (https://eomahaforums.com/viewtopic.php? ... start=1400).

The park in the foreground afaik does not have any potential development tied to it that I've heard of.

The lot next to the UP building is the former spot of the old UP building and the once-proposed Wallstreet Tower. I believe Brad Williams Photography also had plans for a factory outlet shanty+Megasaver there, but details were sketchy at best. For now that parcel is being held onto by the City, awaiting future development. It was involved in a land swap with Lanoha to get the MoO tower built in its present location.

I can see how the former Civic Site has been tough to fill given its size and location, but I would think the lot next to UP would've been filled by now! I'd LOVE to see a residential/condo project in the lot that's 30+ stories.

I really do hope they split the Civic site up if the current plan fails and build some residential and/or office towers in the 20-30 story range over time.
