I see where the Omnibus Bill with $60 million for a new convention center advanced with little opposition.

This is topped out and appeared completed when I went by it on Wednesday evening. Good density for downtown Lincoln, but certainly not the prettiest of finishes.

Agree, I saw it last month, gives some height but not the prettiest building especially on that giant wall part.

Can someone point their phone in that general direction and get a photo?

It would have been ok and bland without the weird beige siding

Between cost of materials, cost of land, mostly reasonable fire codes, decades upon decades of absolutely unreasonable SF housing zoning, and the general regional attitude against not owning a house in the 'burbs with a giant lawn near a "wink wink good school" with a government-backed mortgage which somehow isn't socialism, you get what you get with dense housing these days, and you'll like it.
Stable genius.

This place is also specifically for UNL students who want to live off campus. Not a demographic with too high of standards.
That said, a damn cornice would have been nice…

I will say, though, without the presence of any balconies or anything, it looks taller than 13 stories at first glance

Developers are getting so lazy with these new buildings. Even with how low budget they designed the building, a studio will start at 1.2k and it’ll be “luxury” apartments in a building that looks like social housing in the Soviet Union.

Not the most beautiful building by any stretch, but adds some height and density.

Correct. At least when I saw it in person a couple months back, there were no obvious bays visible.Doctor Fate wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 7:05 pmAlso looks like there is no street level retail or commercial space?

Looks similar to something you might see in a Russian city.

Anybody know how many feet tall this thing is? According to Google, the average 13-story building is 160-190, but based on the buildings around it, I can't imagine that being true.
