Found out that is part of the cooling system. Apparently cool water will be circulated throughout the building as a heat exchange. That thing weighted 31k pounds and basically tapped out the crane's lifting capacity

Appreciate these updates very much. If you cannot tell by now I'm sort of height obsessed. I'd imagine the tower crane will be raised after another floor is added....maybe before?skinzfan23 wrote: Mon Jan 13, 2025 9:26 am 3/17: 8 floors

I think skinz said something around that 400' mark it would raise. Maybe the anchor points for the next increase are under the curtain and will be revealed when it hits 29Nebraska>Iowa wrote: Mon Jan 13, 2025 7:03 pmAppreciate these updates very much. Last I heard was Saturday, January 25, but that is weather dependent and obviously could get bumped for any number of reasons.

Re: Mutual of Omaha Tower (14th & Farnam)
Are they connecting this building to the Cordia distributed Heating system (the 2 big steam plants - 1 by the ballpark, the other by the children's museum)? I wonder if this all part of that system...iamjacobm wrote: Fri Jan 10, 2025 1:51 pmFound out that is part of the cooling system. How exciting! My hometown is growing up! And even though WoodmenLife will be obscured fromCermak wrote: Fri Jan 17, 2025 7:49 pm
Taken today 1-17-25, Woodmen will be slipping to 3rd tallest soon.
specific angles, it’ll still have its prominence in the skyline.

Re: Mutual of Omaha Tower (14th & Farnam)
Height-wise that’s not going to happen for a while, right now the mutual tower is around 390 feet where Woodman is about 478. Probably still have at least five more floors before that happens, which will be about three more months.Cermak wrote: Fri Jan 17, 2025 7:49 pm

Nice shot Brad. I was in CB today and there is a good view from the CB stadium but I need to get higher to take a nice shot. I also want to get up to the Lincoln monument to see what it looks like from that view too.

I went to the Lincoln Monument and Fairmount Park 2 weeks ago. Bright sun on a cold day just wrecks the photos with heat waves.skinzfan23 wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 11:13 pm Nice shot Brad. I suppose time of year with sun angles matter as well?

I am going to assume that with the extreme cold today, they are going to postpone raising the crane. (at least it doesn't look like it has gone up yet today)

I don't think the crane has gone up yet, but the supports are now attached to the building on the 25th floor.

I just saw it from this location, and I think it probably will be the best remote viewing location. 90th & Dodge is a close second IMO.

In case anyone hasn't seen this yet, Lanoha discusses the timeline for the tower on KMTV.
Definitely caught my eye when they said steel would top out by the end of the year.
Anyone know anything about when they will start the glass facade?
