The grammar on their website is truly atrocious. The "Little Spa" tab has some absolutely bewildering sentences.

What does this even mean? "Tired of children's holidays with animators?" Are they referring to a birthday party where kids pop down in front of a TV and watch cartoons?

Ha - I didn't even dive that far into it... but that's just crazy talk! At first, I thought it was probably some European country-based company. But with as poorly worded as this site is, it makes me think Chinese.

Honestly, if they have a single location actually open for business in the US, I can't believe they can attract customers with such poor execution. Of course this shouldn't represent how the business looks once inside, but it's BAD!

I wonder what their job applications look like.

If they didn't claim it was going to be 22,000 sq ft. I'd swear it was going into one of the standard store bays with fold up tables and people doing face painting like at a school carnival.

This all reads like an article I came across recently on several businesses registering with some address in Wyoming to collect Covid paycheck funds... and then skipping out on paying them back (had fake employees, businesses, etc).

It sounds like it could be a good catch for the mall.... but WOW, am I skeptical at this point.

Who funds these things, anyway? If you found all of that out by doing some internet sleuthing, you would think anyone with $$$ to contribute to the concept would be even more interested in learning where these guys are from, who they are, etc.

I definitely wouldn't be pre-paying for a damn thing in that place.

here is an interesting project planned for a former Younkers store at the Southbridge Mall in Des Moines. Could work well at Oakview. Some renderings at the link. OF course it is a plan only and a ways out.

The Iowa Bicycle Coalition and its partners in a planned indoor BMX facility and skatepark will seek to build it at Southridge Mall after about a year of studying sites around the metro area.

Coalition Executive Director Luke Hoffman said it makes sense to house the $26.3 million Community Action Sports Complex inside a 100,000-square-foot former Younkers department store in the mall at 1111 E. Army Post Road. Travis Mansfield, who bought the mall in December for $4 million from Santa Monica, California, real estate developer Macerich Co., said the facility could boost efforts to revitalize the aging shopping destination on Des Moines' south side.

Efforts in place to revitalize ‘dead’ West Omaha mall

Stephanie is a local business owner and teacher. She helped coordinate a Halloween event at the mall that saw lines out the door.

“Most of the stores have been here 15-20 years and they said you know a couple hundred will come through nothing major and we had over 3,000 families come to that event,” said Goodrich.

In December, she was hired as general manager for Oak View Mall. Along with plans for the facility itself, Stephanie has helped sparked excitement through the mall’s social media accounts, collecting thousands of views online.

“We now have a TikTok page, we have a lot more videos, we are spotlighting some of the local businesses in here,” said Stephanie. “Our videos are making some pretty good traction and that is because the people of Omaha want Oak View to succeed.”

Her hope is to focus on local entrepreneurs through pop-up events and a new storefront called Oak 22 Market.

“That is where 22 local vendors can come very weekend. We will have a youth weekend at the end of every weekend as well,” explained Goodrich.

I watched the video and was surprised to see that Kidlavie place is on track to actually open. I still have difficulty trying to understand how this company can't update their website to provide accurate details.

I clicked on their restaurant page and they have some pics, which I imagine are from one of their other locations. However, the "see menu" button doesn't work. The website's overall design is done well, but it's odd they don't keep it updated given the investment they're making to open the Oak View location.

Hopefully it drives more traffic to the mall and does well. The video didn't really mention where in the mall this is going - it's 22,000 sq ft so I would think it needs to be in one of the old anchor spaces and they simply close off the rest.

The Rush Market space was in two different places so that's not a good descript of where it's going. Rush Market was initially where Younkers was. Most recently it was where Sears used to be.

This is quite the proposal for the former Younkers space

The proposed NGR Adventure Park will be developed within an existing building on a 9.93-acre
parcel (Oakview, Lot 4) within the approximately 138-acre Oakview Mixed-Use District, located
southeast of the intersection of 144th Street and West Center Road.

The property is improved with a two-story, 149,160-square-foot former Yonkers department store
that served as a primary anchor at Oak View Mall since the mall opened in 1991. Yonkers closed
in 2018, and the space was subsequently occupied by The Rush Market, a home furnishings
retailer, from 2019 through 2025. The space has been vacant since 2025.

The property includes 657 surface parking stalls, with vehicular access from South 144th Street,
as well as from internal drives and shared parking areas serving the remainder of the mall.

The existing building is proposed to be renovated for an NRG Adventure Park on the upper level
and potentially a grocery store on the lower level. Grocery stores over 10,000 square feet are
permitted under Section 55-563(d), General Uses. However, a Major Amendment is required for
the NRG Adventure Park, which is classified as an Indoor Sports and Recreation use under
Section 55-563(f), Uses Subject to Certain Restrictions

NRG Adventure Park will offer a variety of indoor attractions for all ages, primarily targeting
children ages 5 to 14. Attractions will include trampolines, soft play areas, virtual reality games, a
ropes course, rock climbing walls, and similar activities. The facility will also include nine party
rooms for birthdays and other group events, as well as a kitchen and café serving family-friendly
food and beverages such as pizza, hot dogs, wings, and nachos.

NRG Adventure Park seems to have many of the same attractions as Kidlavie, which is open by the way. I think NRG is aimed at a slightly older age bracket, but it's almost like a second Kidlavie with a different aesthetic. Great for Oakview Mall though.

We were in Oak View Mall a few years ago and they happen to have some vendor fair happening in the mall. The whole thing was very cringe at how poorly it was attended and I genuinely felt bad for the vendors that probably paid to be there as there was no foot traffic. I'm guessing everyone took a loss that day.

We decided to check out the mall a week ago after dinner nearby. It was really really sad. I can appreciate the small shops that have opened there, but it's so dead. The only reason people were there that night was due to a dog show.
