Just curious what UNO will be seeded. 15 or 16? And if a 16 seed, would they have to play in the Dayton round to advance to the main bracket?

Re: 2025 NCAA Tournament March Madness
With all these small conference tournament upsets I don't think they will be in Dayton. The NCAA claims they don't seed for stories, but something tells me UNO is getting matched up in a 15/2 game with Michigan State for the Frankie Fidler storyline.jag42 wrote: Tue Mar 11, 2025 5:18 pm Just curious what UNO will be seeded. 15 or 16? Wouldn't it be wild if Creighton actually made it all the way to the national championship game and won?

I agree with this. I've seen zero projections with Omaha going to Dayton. Zero. They are better than that by a wide margin.iamjacobm wrote: Tue Mar 11, 2025 5:24 pmWith all these small conference tournament upsets I don't think they will be in Dayton. I watched the Central Connecticut vs. St. Francis NEC conference final last night. That was brutal. it felt like watching 4th grade girls basketball. Most brackets had Central Connecticut as a 15 and Omaha as a 16. I have full confidence in saying Omaha is miles better than either team and would roll either one of them. The announcers kept calling that game a physical war, but it was really just to hide that it was extremely poor basketball and neither team could hit wide open shots. It ended 46-43. Even watching Summit League all year, I was shocked by how far apart the talent and execution was from the top of the Summit League to those schools.
Omaha has been disrespected all year by Vegas and ESPN. They had them as as only a 4 point favorite vs. UMKC in the conference tournament. That was a 1/8 matchup. They had them as only a 4 point favorite vs. South Dakota and they rolled them by 25. They had St. Thomas as a 3.5 point favorite in the final and Omaha won by 10.
To me, Omaha is easily a 15 seed and could be argued as maybe a 14 with the length and athleticism they have. I see it as an east coast bias that an NEC school like Central Connecticut was projected above them as they clearly don't have the same level of talent. I think omaha is also being punished a bit in the projections by the fact they started 5-9 and ended 22-12. If they'd started even 6-6 and won a few more of those early non-con games against 200-300 competition, they'd be sitting around 25-9 and would be a 14 seed for sure. But, such is life.
The latest ESPN projection has them as a 15 playing Texas Tech, but if I had to bet what the committee will do, they'll be a 15 seed against Michigan St. for the Omaha vs. Fiddler storyline which truly is made for tv. "The Grass Isn't always greener," is a fun narrative.

Can't wait to see Omaha show up on Sunday's selection show. Good luck to the Mavericks and the Bluejays in the big dance.

Omaha making it to the Big Dance is stunning, the exposure an upstart team gets from this tournament is priceless and so valuable to the growth of the program.Bob from Omaha wrote: Sun Mar 16, 2025 6:11 pm In my almost 67 years I NEVER would have A) Thought Omaha U, UNO or Omaha would make it to the dance, and B) Thought Omaha U, UNO or Omaha would make it to the dance and NU wouldn't. Loving Omaha's prime time slot on Thursday. I am glad I'm not going to have to try to take time off of work to watch it.

It would be beyond awesome if Omaha could pull off an upset or keep it close, but this is an especially tough matchup for the Mavs because of the perimeter pressure St. John's can apply.

I was hoping to see former Creighton assistant, Allan Huss, and his High Point team take down number four Purdue, but Purdue kept them just far enough behind.

Lots of headlines on this around popular media. Not a surprise to us fans, but it is great for Creighton's continued name recognition nationally.

What’s even worse is their communications director threatening the reporter who took the video of Hurley cussing. They could have just simply sad, Hurley got caught up in the moment, but that’s not how they roll.
