Very interesting that there are no uncut segments this week

Are there ever really true uncut episodes when the mayor is on? I understand the reason for redacting them but if there's one guest that a viewer watches the uncut edition for it's the mayor.

It seems to depend. One of her appearances last year was where she talked about developing Lot B and mentioned Omni as a possible hotel tenant during an uncut segment. But I agree it’s definitely possible that more exclusive information was talked about this time off air. Only Brad knows haha

Overall it seems like a missed opportunity for G.O. to sell more advertising for an Uncut sponsor. It would take a bit more work, but if they deliberately saved a few exclusive tidbits for Uncut(weekly, not just when the mayor is on)more people would actually watch/listen to it. They have joked about how few viewers watch Uncut.

I really wish that the general public had access to actual facts about the streetcar and actually listened to this segment to see the impact that the streetcar can have today and into the future. The mention of possibly investing in affordable housing with surplus funds from the streetcar tax base is interesting to hear as well.

Yeah the affordable housing bit has been part of it since the very beginning. If the streetcar continues to have the momentum it's had before tracks are even in the ground, we're looking at the possibility of hundreds of millions of dollars to address something every city is struggling with right now.

What? A 60 story Margaritaville Resort is not going to happen in downtown for Yates? LOL!

I'm sure the Grow Omaha team hears developers talking about all kinds of potential developments. Some work out and some never come to fruition. Regardless, Omaha is trending with good momentum right now.

I can see this. I would think Capitol Street could benefit from it. At Civic Square site, or tear down one of the parking garages, or OWH building could close and be redeveloped, etc. I think everyone is holding out to see where a grocery store may land.

More housing(substantially more) would need to be a component here and some sort of destination anchor(besides a grocery store). 5th & B has a museum, as well as, a food hall which could work here too. Getting high end/exclusive retail here would take something with significant draw power. I love the idea of an urban Costco now that they’re integrating apartments in some of their new developments. It’s annoying that all of the current locations are west of 680 but I can’t think of an obvious existing location on the east side of the metro for a future location. So why not here?

Yes they are. IT has been well reported. It is also well reported that the only reason there is a residential component to this is to get the building permits to build anywhere close to this area. Not going to say it is good or bad to have that as a reason but this does not fit their mold
