If anyone has had interior walls/ceilings painted, can you recommend a good painting company in Omaha? One that is willing to NOT use Sherwin Williams paints if asked. (Have had nothing but problems when painters use this brand of paint, even the premium line.)

SW paint is all I will use, and I have tried many different brands through the years.

Can't recommend a contractor since have done all my own painting and have helped other family so there has been plenty done.


I have used Gerst painting for interior painting in a work environment. That is my single reference point, with no issues, and will use them again when the need arises They also do residential

SW paint is all I will use, and I have tried many different brands through the years.

We had our exterior painted with Sherwin Williams Resilience in 2017 and it was already in desperate need of being repainted by 2022. In 2024, we made a warranty claim against SW and, after 6 months of back and forth (we even mailed them a piece of our siding to examine), they bought the paint for us to repaint. Their warranty only covers paint and materials, so not labor. They did upgrade the paint to their Sherwin Williams Emerald Rain Refresh product at no additional charge. We'll see how long it lasts. Once I started discussing it with others ,I've found more and more people that complained their SW paint didn't hold-up.

Many of the professional painters insist on Sherwin Williams, but the cynic in me assumes that's because SW gives the best kickbacks. Also, some will charge you full retail for it despite the fact they got it for a discount contractor price and so they make money on both their labor and the paint. They get grumpy about using anything else. Behr, for example, is frequently well-rated by third parties, but ask a professional painter to use it and they will often throw a fit about it.
