Probably 204th & F. They have plans to widen the intersection for turn lanes on F Street this year.

Oh, it might be the bridge replacement on the Elkhorn River. The TIP has it in FY 2027.

I've seen them list 192nd to 204th in the past TIPs and CIPs with a TBD year but it dropped off a while ago. So I don't think there's anything coming for that any time soon.

Maybe it was the Douglas County Highway Plan that I used to see this project, which is why I haven't been seeing it in the TIP and CIP.

Notice a little further down is has Construction Period UNK. Normally it will list a year when construction is tentatively set to happen. I've always viewed these pages without a construction year listed as more speculative. I would love to be wrong though. Hopefully something will get posted online in the next few days.

Looks like you were right. I'm surprised they still listed the construction year as unknown in this fiscal year's plan, but Keep Omaha Moving now finally has the project listed:

I agree. I have no experience in transportation, but I feel like it was a huge missed opportunity to not make 204th into an expressway similar to west dodge. Just add in an interchange with west dodge road to the north, and curve to the west or east around gretna for another interchange with i-80. Would have helped with traffic on 204th through gretna and essentially served as a west o beltway, but now homes and businesses are built up to 204th and there are tons of signalized intersections being put up.

Project will begin next year and last two construction seasons. Q Street will be closed during this time. OPPD will be replacing the large transmission poles beginning this fall.

No noise walls will be constructed along any of the project. An additional signal will go in at 201st Street. The only work being done on 204th is shorting the median noses; dual left turns will not be constructed there at this time (Q Street will be constructed with dual lefts, but initially only be striped for single).

I never seem learn and follow Waze and Google Maps to take 192nd North. If the Center Street intersection is not backed up, it is 3-4 minutes quicker than taking 204th. That is going from 192nd and Giles to Menards off 204th and Dodge.

No idea. I assume changing budget priorities. Road construction projects constantly get delayed. It can be frustrating.

I think they also do traffic counts and if its not growing as fast as they were thinking, they may change priorities a little.

Posting this here as well since it's related to this project:

We did one project it took OPPD way longer than expected to move the power poles back away from the new road.

Speaking of this, Q Street between 192nd & 204th appears to be way behind schedule for this same reason - or perhaps other utilities. I've been wondering since early this summer if they needed to move some of the wooden poles for this. The larger transmission lines were done last year, but these were still left as is.

From looking at the webcams, they have also seemed to have had a lot of weather delays due to frequent rain making things soggy, sometimes for many days at a time due to pooling. While we haven't had a crazy amount of rain (we are still technically under average this year), it has been frequent enough to where things haven't really been able to dry out enough for long periods this year. And not having the right conditions will certainly delay things.

But either way, these poles still have not been addressed and it's clear now that they need to move before they can continue paving the north side as well as continuing east (there's single pole on the south side in the way). And with where we are in the year, that window is quickly coming to a close.

I'm guessing this will drag into the middle of next year at the earliest, although I hope I'm wrong.

They had originally said Fall 2025, but they did a quiet update on the projects page to say late Spring 2026. It's wild how far off course this project is though.

However, I am hopeful that they can open two lanes relatively soon, since it looks like they could have 2 lanes relatively quickly? It's not too far between segments if they could just hurry up and partially complete that stretch?

Pouring on the east side today. Looks like the pole that has been blocking it has been moved. So maybe they'll open two lanes over winter.

Good to see some progress... I'm sure the businesses going in at 204th & Q are anxiously awaiting the completion.

FWIW, I don't think a single tenant has signed on for the two new retail buildings at the corner of 192nd & Q St. I imagine part of that is due to the construction mess... other part is probably ridiculously high rent rates for that location.

Yeah they finally removed the ones on the north side about 3 weeks ago. I periodically check the web cams and was surprised to finally see them gone one day.

They finally started grading where they were over the last couple days. There hadn't been much movement since the last snow.

The eastbound lanes were completed last fall. They've been waiting on OPPD to move the power poles on the north side so they could start the westbound lanes.

It was originally supposed to be done by the end of last year. Hopefully it will be done by this summer. I think the paving of the westbound lanes will go pretty quickly once they finish grading.

I was wondering the same thing because they have yard signs with QR codes on them mentioning a road construction project will begin soon. I haven't been able to scan the code when I'm driving by.

There's one sign about 2-3 blocks south of Harrison on 180th. I've also seen them on Harrison. Harrison should be 4 lanes all the way out to 204th, IMO.

Whatever they're going to tear up, I need to plan to avoid.

I would hope it doesn't take until August. The grading for the westbound lanes looks pretty close to where they just need to pour the cement. And the traffic signals have started to go up too.

For Harrison, are they talking 216th? It was supposed to start last August but looking at the webcam, it hasn't started yet. As for the rest of Harrison, MAPA is looking at that along with 168th:

2025-004 168th Street & Harrison Street Corridors Improvements

The project will design the 168th Street corridor from approximately V to Harrison Street and Harrison Street from 157th Street to 204th Street using the City’s Complete Streets process to identify the community’s needs, context of the area, and identify safety issues that need to be addressed. We anticipate that this will include widening of 168th Street and Harrison Street as well as providing sidewalk and/or trail access to provide connectivity, as appropriate. This project will coordinate closely with Sarpy County’s 168th St. Hwy 370 - Harrison St. project and the City’s 168th Street project from Q to Center, which is currently being constructed. This project will further determine overall project cost needs for construction and help to write an application to apply for federal funds for a shovel-ready project.

The project will include 168th Street from V Street to Harrison Street as well as Harrison Street from 156th to 204th Streets. The project will be closely coordinated with Sarpy County’s current 168th St. Hwy 370 - Harrison St. project currently funded through MAPA.

It's now been pushed out to September. It is honestly crazy this stretch has seen such big delays.

The anticipated completion date for our Q Street closure from 192nd Street to 204th Street has been revised to September 2026, reflecting the time required for utility relocations.

It’s ridiculous… it’s a mile and they’ve had the entire street closed the whole time, unlike many widening proejcts like 168th where they keep one lane open in each direction.

They said it’s due to utilities. It’s not rocket science, they knew where the utilities were before they started.
