A new location on 168th, possibly in the Tiburon area.

Interesting. That would be a good location for them. Waterfall has pizza, as does Lansky's. But not much else considering the number of roof tops.

Their 156 and Pacific location and their Lavista locations always wall-to-wall people. I’m partial to the saddle Creek location since they have one of my Creighton photos hanging up in there.

Lighthouse Bar and Grill on 168th between Cornhusker and 370 does a nice job with pizza

We ate at the original Saddle Creek location last night. It was my first visit in over 5 years,
I still don’t particularly like their pizzas, but their onion rings are some of the very best in town.

Unlike La Casa I don't prefer the original Mama's location. I've found the 156th & Pacific location much more consistent.

I heard a rumor over the weekend that Mama's Pizza (all locations) have been sold, to whom I don't know.

Oh man - not to say businesses can't survive once they're sold, but based upon what has happened in our market, I'd say it tends to not end well.

For whatever reason, things change - not sure if it's staff, cost-cutting measures on food or what (perhaps a combination). We enjoy Mama's, especially the new "to go" place on 168th as it's about 5 mins from our place, so I hope if it did sell, there are not any noticeable (negative) changes!

In 2025, Mama’s became employee-owned, maintaining all the original recipes, culture, & staff of previous ownership

Lol, thanks, nebport. Clearly I did not get the memo on that Grow Omaha brief and am woefully behind the times!

Meh. There seems to be this unwritten rule that the Grow Omaha newsletter is required reading around here. This is eOmahaForums.com not GrowOmaha.com. So, getting the "this was mentioned on Grow Omaha x weeks ago" response when you post news is a little eye-rolling. Don't get me wrong. I love Grow Omaha and I do read their weekly email, but I don't care for being told something I mention was previously mentioned by them. My 2¢. I don't want to ruffle feathers. :)

We go to mama’s often. Two of our several visits this year I have seen the owner, or apparently now former owner? I saw him at the pacific Street location a few months ago and LaVista location last week, so apparently he is still involved.

Probably now a partial employee owner!

I’m with ya. I’m not going to multiple sites to keep up with stuff, especially since I only care about the more big ticket items.

No "fuss" at all. Just taking the most current opportunity to state something that's been on my mind awhile. :) No biggie.

In this case I remembered hearing/reading about it awhile back so my intention was to note that if one hadn’t heard about it and yet, still have been enjoying the pizza, maybe that’s a good omen for the future. FWIW, I don't read the G.O. newsletter word for word religiously every week either. I do usually digest the Uncut podcast weekly though(I’m a podcast guy) and I don’t remember this being mentioned on air and I’m not sure it was mentioned by other media outlets so I think it’s fair to say it was a bit under the radar. It did however, stick out to me whenever and wherever I'd heard/read about it because I used to know someone in the family. A little google search revealed in fact G.O. must’ve been the source. I also don’t begrudge anyone who lacks scholarly G.O. knowledge but I will say in their favor they often have the same kind of info that brings me to this website(though more substantiated)without the doom and gloom of traditional news outlets.
