Yes, earlier than ever for the Jays this year. Exhibition vs IA St is this Friday. Don't quote me but I think the earliest before was the last week in October.

Sounds like the game vs UConn is already sold out and the St Johns one isn't far behind, only about 20 tickets left.

Creighton hosting 2026 five-star forward Jaxon Richardson, son of longtime NBA player
Creighton is set to host one of the nation’s top 2026 recruits.

Five-star forward Jaxon Richardson, a consensus top-25 prospect, will be in Omaha this weekend for an official visit, a source told The World-Herald, starting with Friday’s exhibition between the Bluejays and Iowa State.

It’s the beginning of another campus tour for Richardson, a coveted 6-foot-5, 205-pound swingman out of Miami.

Richardson — No. 11 via ESPN, No. 20 via 247 Sports and No. 21 via On3 — already visited Miami, Alabama (three times) and USC. He’s also scheduled to visit Ole Miss and Louisville.

In July, Richardson cut his list to 10 finalists: Creighton, Alabama, Miami, Louisville, Ole Miss, USC, Michigan, Cincinnati, Villanova and Seton Hall.

Jays won over IA St. Early on isu was up 6-0 but the jays went on a huge run and were up 46-23 at half. Mac played the bench most of the 2nd half and the game got close but the jays won 71-58. Kyle Korver was even in the house.

The new video board is nice but very hard to read stats from the upper bowl. Mostly bc they now have the players name and rebounds included but it also seems sort of distorted on the edges bc of the slight curve of the screen.

Jays won season opener over South Dakota. Freeman impressed with 19pts in only 19 min. Other than that, not much else from this game. Sloppy at times and lots of rotations. Next game is @Gonzaga next Tuesday.

Green is in concussion protocol. I believe they are expecting him to be back for the Gonzaga game.

Also see that Hudson Greer may redshirt but still ongoing in discussion. I think that would be a mistake for future signees to see. A top 60 recruit and he is redshirting. Although, in this day with NIL and being able to get seasoned players that you know can play, it may not make a difference for a school like Creighton with so much NIL only for basketball.

Apparently he and Greer ran into each other in practice. Doesn't sound too alarming though, so he should be back.

Watching the replay of the Creighton game on Peacock. They are using an aerial view of Omaha with First Comp still on the twin towers and the library still there of course. That has to be at least 4-5 years old. Wonder where they get these from, you think now they could just send a drone up to get a quick shot.

Cheaper to use existing stock than even sending a drone. Also, most of the people watching would never know the difference unless it was 20 years old

Jays remain #23 in the AP poll.

JTT had surgery for a lower leg injury and is going to be out 6-8 weeks. Sucks for him as it was possible that he might get some playing time this year.

It's not just Peacock -- if you watch closely Fox reuses the same exterior shots of the arena over and over again too. And they recycle the same downtown B-roll a lot. At the end of the game when they show the copyright statement, it usually lists four things under "Footage courtesy of" -- the two schools, their conference, and Getty Images (or another stock video service).

One of these days I'm hoping it says "Brad Williams Photography" instead of Getty 8)

Me too...haha. I know they usually do use old footage, but this one had to be at least 5 years old if not older. I always laugh when you can clearly tell the weather is drastically different. One time the video they had was snowing and in reality it was 55 and sunny outside.

I don't think it would be that hard to get on of the cameramen outside for a quick shot, but I get it. Its cheaper and easier to use old footage.

Its official, Hudson Greer is going to redshirt this year. Just not enough min for him to play. Its a crazy world, where 4* recruits reshirt.

No clue, but they did make it sound like he is still wanted here at CU. Hopefully Greer sees the long range of things and realizes that this is a great place. He is a good player, but a year of strength and conditioning would also help his body.

I almost think a team like Creighton is going to go more through the portal with the NIL money they have than the traditional HS recruiting.

Jays got absolutely blown out tonight, especially in the 2nd half. Too much iso, which isn’t Creighton basketball.

Hopefully they learn and move on.

I have never seen a McDermott team have so little ball movement. A game like this might be needed for guys to fully buy into McDermott’s system.

Seems like we get these games every 3-4 years. Its been awhile but I agree, the beat downs happen but there was so little ball movement that it didn't help anything. Early in the game we were hitting shots and all looked well until we went ice cold in the 2nd half and guys started forcing it and trying to do everything themselves.

Katrelle Harmon and Jaidyn Coon, both 2026 recruits officially signed today. Harmon is a top 60 recruit. Coon is the #2 recruit from the state of Iowa.

It was an awful performance..especially in the 2nd half. The Jays couldn’t throw it in the ocean and their transition defense was BAD. As Mac said, this game was a learning experience; they have a long ways to go…

Jays looked good early on up 12-0 but finished the first half very sluggish, thankfully they pulled away and won by 39 to MD eastern shore, the same team Nebraska just beat by only 19.

Overall no one is really standing out besides Blae Harper for the Jays. They need to gel quickly with the schedule coming up.

The Jays are reversing course and not redshirting Hudson Greer for this season now. I can't think of another player for Creighton that this has happened for since I began following them 20 years ago. Coach McDermott said that he has been looking for consistency and Greer has been providing that in practice. Hopefully we will see him play tonight. Kid definitely looks to be more athletic than most of our guards.

Jackson Mc Andrew is out for the rest of the season with a foot injury Period. That makes sense he did not look well in the last game.
