A newbie free weekly arts and culture roundup for Omaha

[Museum_Nerd]

From being inside the culture community in Omaha, it’s a bit nuts that keeping up with city’s orgs requires about six browser tabs, eight calendars, and the patience of a saint. Between museums, galleries, theaters, gardens, etc. and everyone’s event announcements scattered across the internet, it is very easy to miss the wonderful programs happening ALL the time.

We (museum and culture nerds) started putting together a free weekly email that gathers everything in one place. No gimmicks. No cost. No catch. Just a roundup of family programs, adult events, lectures, art openings, and interesting happenings around the city. We also added a local cultural worker spotlight and an Omaha trivia fact, because who among us doesn’t love winning a bar bet with obscure knowledge.

Partially, the goal is to make life easier for people who enjoy the arts. But the bigger mission is to lift Omaha’s cultural organizations by giving them more visibility, more engagement, and hopefully more people in the door. There is a lot of fantasical work in this city and we’re trying hard to shine a bright light on it.

If it sounds useful, the latest issue is here:

Happy to hear thoughts and feedback from folks who keep a close eye on Omaha’s culture happenings.
