In an announcement via social media on March 24th, Bella Vita Ristorante at 2620 N Main street announced that after 17 years, the establishment will be closing in the coming days. The post further states that the Elkhorn restaurant’s owner will be retiring, and the final day for service will be Saturday, April 1st. Unused gift certificates can be redeemed at Bella Vita’s sister establishment, Boyd and Charlie’s at 2706 Main street. Congratulations on a successful run, and thank you for 17 years of memories!
Quite sad - was our favorite Italian restaurant in the area... My wife likes Spezia but I find it quite odd they don't even offer a lasagna on the menu.

If you want something close to Spezia, Jimi D's has lasagna.
Anyone know what is going on here? They put in a foundation for an addition. I looked up the building permit and it says:
Bella Vita - 3518 SF - Original Description: Remodel of an existing 3912 SF restaurant, and a 3518 SF addition. Will continue to be used as a restaurant.
But as far as I can tell Bella Vita closed in 2023? All the building permits (5 of them) say Bella Vita on them.

The owners of Bella Vita also operate Boyd and Charlie's BBQ, which obviously didn't close. I wasn't sure why they opted to shut Bella Vita - it was one of our favorite places. I haven't heard anything from them about opening another restaurant or reopening Bella Vita. I know they were trying to sell the space for over a million... I have no idea.
The owners of Main Street Cellar are turning this into two separate restaurants, A place called La Vida Nova on the main floor and an unnamed fine dining place upstairs.

My guess is this has no connection to Bella Vita at all.
As of now, my wife and I have decided North Italia at VP is our fav Italian place. If they can maintain the quality we've had so far, then we'll be happy.
