Forgot the Lions and Cowboys play tonight, mark the time! 7:15 on Prime. Two teams that have basically the same record. Lions coming off a 6-7 (I hate myself for saying that lol) game alternating win-loss streak, and the Cowboys are on a 3 win streak and just beat both last year's Super Bowl teams, consecutively. The Lions lost to the Eagles and Chiefs, where the Cowboys beat them both. I'm not hoping for this outcome, but it would be pretty impressive if the Cowboys can beat three of the preseason Super Bowl favorites in consecutive games.

The Lions have to win every game, they're hanging on by a thread. At this very moment, the Cowboys aren't the team I want them to be playing. This is really a show me what youre made of game.

I have a couple Cowboys fans in a group chat and we've been talking so much |expletive|.

I don't want to get too happy, because I actually like the Cowboys, and they very much are still in the game, but it's fun. The Lions are playing like the ones I know.

This is a big game.

What a great win for the Lions! And the Cowboys played pretty well, but the three turnovers were just too much to overcome.

I love watching Gibbs. Skip to the 1 minute mark, he just absolutely demoralized Daron Bland. He made him look blander than buttered noodles. And then follows with a GTFO stiff arm that I felt from here. I can't fathom the embarrassment. I think Bland might have cried himself to sleep last night.

I forgot to mention, a few weeks ago the Detroit Lions said they were going to wear home whites. Kinda perplexed, I said "why would they wear home hwites?

Ahh, they must be playing the Cowboys". I turned out to be correct in my assessment.

It's cold blooded. The superstition, and teams are now playing to it regularly. It seems to work every time. I just, I can't even. I'm sorry.

Well then, there ya have it. Didn't watch the game, but both surprised, and not surprised the Chiefs lost. I guess they now have a very low percent chance to make the playoffs. I'm no Chiefs fan myself cause they're a bunch a cry babies. So it'll be nice not to hear about them to a point of nausea the rest of the year.

Phillip Rivers, 44 signing with the Colts.

I've always loved me some Phil Riv. The last QB from the golden ages coming back. He'll teach the rooks a thing or two. Maybe Tom Brady will be convinced to come back now too lol

Ironically, as we were speaking of which conference was stronger...

The AFC currently has 4 teams eliminated. One from each division.

The NFC currently has 5 teams eliminated. Two in two divisions, and one in one. The only division in the entirety of the NFL with all teams still live is the NFC North.

OOF. The Lions can't afford a loss, and they have to go to LA, each QB playing their former team, and obviously I like Matthew Stafford and wholly trust in his ability. Especially when last time he played in Detroit, he was boo'd. I was like hey fellas, the team traded him! Don't hate him. So I'm sure he's got a chip on his shoulder. Feels like a big trap game.

Regarding conference strength, the top three betting odds for Super Bowl winner are all NFC teams: LA Rams, Seattle, Green Bay. The next three are the AFC teams: Buffalo, New England, Denver.

I'm a big Philip Rivers fan, but I don't understand why he wants to waste time and energy with this Colts team. I mostly hope that he stays healthy.

It would be so cool if Uncle Rico comes in with reckless abandon and just lights it up. He's got nothing to lose. He was probably sitting on the couch with Kip watching the Colts looking pretty good, gazing off in the distance, "Back in 2020, I could throw a pigskin a quarter mile".

From this very moment, I'd probably put my money on a Rams-Patriots super bowl. And that is the biggest surprise to feel that way at this point. At the beginning of the year I had Chiefs-Lions, and they're currently nowhere to be found.

One helluva game tonight. I didn't get home til late and found it to be 30-30. Into OT, Rams TD, Seahawks respond with a TD. A tie doesn't do them any good, go for two and convert. Thats some good football.

Really good alternate uniforms too. Almost an Oregon Duck vibe, playing to the bird.

It's looking like the NFC will go through Seattle, and if the Lions even make it, It will be a scary road ahead.

Rumors are currently flying that the Chiefs will be relocating from Missouri to Kansas. Sounds like we should know more next week.

Heard that a while ago. Rumored to be by the speedway, and it'll come down to a bidding war between Kansas and Missouri. Saw a rendering of an indoor stadium, could have been AI though.

If you read the details and not the headlines, this is nowhere near a done deal. It is part of the negotiation strategy. What they have just asked for is 10 companies to provide proposals to design work for a Kansas location. The next step after they see what the 10 provide, if they respond, is to select two to do a competitive bid to complete the design details. IT is another step towards Kansas being a landing spot, but it is a long way from being the choice.

Yeah, I thought it was a leveraging strategy, but if it did happen, I wouldn't think it'd be all bad. The Legends area just seems to make sense. Especially with the Royals up in the air. But I'm no Chiefs fan, so I don't know what being in MO means to them. Doesn't make a difference to me, as I'll only go if they play the Lions or Patriots, and that doesn't happen often. When the Chiefs played the Lions this year, I considered going to the game, but they wanted over $300 for a seats wayyyy up in the nosebleeds and on the 30 yard line. NO THANKS.

The last time I went to Arrowhead was in 2014 when they whooped the Patriots on Monday night. Everybody thought that was the dotted I and the crossed T on the Patriots dynasty... En Route to a spectacular Super Bowl run... Ahhhh, good times. We were on the 50, way up in the nosebleeds, and for a game that big, $185 seemed acceptable. Seat prices are just nasty now. Prohibitive.

I forgot me and the boys also went to a disc golf tournament at the stadium in 2017, so that was actually the very last time I was in the building. It was pretty cool being on the turf. 9th hole is placed at center field, you throw from the second deck and the mando (for those unfamiliar with disc golf, that means a mandatory route you have to throw through) is the goal posts. Fun experience.

What I loved about last night's game was the two points to win it. It would have made no difference for Seattle to tie or lose, so they went for the win and converted. So much on the line there, and the stadium went from dead quiet, to bout ready to cause another earthquake lol.

I'm quickly becoming a Sam Darnold fan. Dude is good. Having watched him twice a year as a Patriots fan, basically being wasted by the Jets. They threw him away to be the backup at the Vikings, where I also watched him twice a year as a Lions fan. He got his op and hasn't looked back. Inspiring to see how he's taken the bull by the horns.

One of the BEST tackles I have ever seen was at Arrowhead, probably 20 years ago. The problem was that it was not on the field. I was in an upper-deck seat and went to concessions in the third quarter. I was near one of the corners with the spiral walkways, and all of a sudden, a guy (fan) came running past me all out. Right behind him were two KC police officers in a full-speed foot chase. One of the offices ( BIG GUY) took a flying leap and tackled the guy running just as he was entering the spiral. Good thing it was cooler weather; wearing more than shorts and a T-shirt, or the road rash from the tackle would have been ugly. They slid a good 10 feet on impact. Of course, the officer was protected from the concrete by the body beneath him. This contact started about 15 feet from me. Since they came from behind me, I was glad I hadn't become any collateral damage. The guy was obviously very drunk, but I have often wondered what he did that triggered that response.

Big division game. A heck of a kick in that wind.

I also noticed that "triple set" for the QB cadence seems to have taken over. I first heard Jared Goff say it, but I've since heard a bunch of QB's use it. May be a NFC North thing.

Tell me about it. That would have been the ideal outcome. Not sure what scenarios there are, all I know is the Lions are hanging on by a thread, and they need to win out. Not an easy road - Steelers today, Vikings should be a W, then Bears in Chicago. Bears have to go to San Fran.

I read that if the Packers tie twice, it would be the first time since the 1974 when the NFL added OT that a team ties twice. Dallas can still do it, but I really wanted it to happen to the Packers last night. Would have made the route that less bleak.

We don't like Aaron Rodgers around these parts. I think this might be his first time in Detroit since he left the Packers. My neighbor is a Packers fan and we talked for a minute, and he's even rooting for the Lions lol.

This isn't from tonight ( and I really don't want to talk about tonight). We were at a Thanksgiving game a few years back in a suite at Ford Field. My brother in law is the corporate counsel for a large engineering firm. Next thing you know Billy Sims just walks in to say hi. I old him that he ruined a few of my Saturdays when I was at Nebraska and he was at Oklahoma. He said he'd make it up to me. We talked over a beer & this is Billy with my wife and daughter. A great guy. Oh, and the suite was very nice too.

I think they have an 8% chance to make it. Anyway, after today, I didn't see anything too inspiring to think they'll make noise if they do make it. Lions have to win out, and need the Packers to lose out. I think the Bears have to lose to the 9ers and Lions. Its a bleak vision. But theres still a very small chance. A grain of salt.

Ford Field is an indoor stadium so it's always perfect inside. Having said that, having our own bathroom, unlimited food and the occasional celebrity just stop by to say hi is amazing. Still, that last play was crazy.

The Seahawks are the #1 seed in the NFC. They've clinched the playoffs and have a first-round bye. So they get to skip the Wild Card and go straight to the Division. Wouldn't it be something if they actually made it to the Super Bowl?

They haven't clinched the 1 seed yet. They have it at the moment. There's still pathways for the Bears, 49ers, Rams, and Seahawks to get it. There's a bunch of games to watch the next two weeks that could determine the 1 seed.

The Rams have the easy street, as they only have to play the Falcons and Cardinals. All the others play each other at some point. Gonna be a couple really huge games coming up.

Can't overstate what fun it is to watch Phillip Rivers tonight, and he's doing pretty well. Bringing back to the golden era for QB's. Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, Peyton Manning, all gone. Phillip Rivers still has it. They don't make em like that anymore.

Tell ya one thing I don't want to see is the 49ers make it, just to fail again. Especially since the Superb Owl is in their house. I'd rather see a different NFC team make it and stand a chance. Kyle Shanahan has coached in 3 of em and had massive implosions in each. Also don't want the Eagles again either.

My ideal, realistic match up would be a Seahawks-Partriots rematch from 2014. You know Seattle has a terrible taste about that game.

I'm not hurt by the Lions loss and disqualification for the playoffs. I already saw the writing on the wall the last couple weeks. They're just... not good. Then when I went searching for the game on TV and found out its on Netflix, which I don't already have, I said ah, well frick, I'm not gonna go through all that bull just to watch em lose. Sigh. And I was right. I didn’t even bother to put up my flag and screw in the blue lights. I just knew. And I'm glad they let me off the hook. I'm at peace.
