It's a weird location right now IMO.
Sort of an island of almost walkable, but close enough the Dundee that why would you venture that direction instead of towards Dundee.
At least, that's been my thought as I sit at that light leaving Dundee.
The new apartments might help. And of course the ol' Fix Dodge argument.

The for lease sign is finally down here with a new Gold Young Construction sign up. Looks like they did the work for salted edge/sugared ledge. Didn’t sugared ledge just close and announce they were looking for a bigger space? Or anyone know what’s going in here?

Since this thread came back to life again, I didn't see any info in this thread on how long Varsity was open, and when did it actually close? I had almost forgotten Varsity was ever there, although my nephew once worked there. It must have not lasted very long.
He said "They are some big, ugly red brick buildings"
...and then they were gone.
...and then they were gone.

December 2011 until July 2021, so it was open a full decade.GetUrban wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 3:04 pm Since this thread came back to life again, I didn't see any info in this thread on how long Varsity was open, and when did it actually close? Oh wow, that was a long stretch of time for that location. I started working nearby right around the time it closed. The sign must have already come down by then.Brad wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 3:15 pmDecember 2011 until July 2021, so it was open a full decade.GetUrban wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 3:04 pm Since this thread came back to life again, I didn't see any info in this thread on how long Varsity was open, and when did it actually close? 10 years is an eternity in the restaurant industry. I bet if you talked to someone getting ready to open a restaurant and told them it would be open 10 years, they would be ecstatic.GetUrban wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 3:27 pmOh wow, that was a long stretch of time for that location.
