Did that even last a month?
If you mean Action Burger, not even that. Maybe a week. I stopped in on a Thursday when I saw that it had opened, and then never saw it open again.

Has anyone been to this place? I don’t really understand their business model, they have some not great looking food from what I’ve seen online, alcohol infused frozen yogurt, and some robot looking thing that delivers food.

I've been once and it was very below average breakfast. Not great service and the menu options were limited. Its weird because I walk by this place around lunch time very frequently and I never see anyone in there. Surprising they can afford expensive rents, but maybe I caught them on a bad day and I'm missing the hype.

I hadn't, but boozy froyo and a robot buddy are the best sales pitch I've seen for a place in awhile, now I want to check it out

It looks like Private Wealth has opened up an office here. Signage went up this week.

I believe the Bunch Box location in the Capitol District is open now. Did they close the one at 14th & Jackson?

14th & Jackson has been closed for months. I thought the Capitol location had been open for some time?

It may have. That doesn't make "open now" any less true. :)

A group called Wabtec took just under 10k SF in the office building here. Looks like they are in the rail industry and do work with UP. I believe that is the last vacant office space here which is nice to see get leased up.

Back in the day they were more in to railroad controls and computer related items, but they actually purchased GE's locomotive division a few years back and sell about 1/2 the new locomotives you see today.

How is the Capitol District doing in general? I live nearby, but never feel a draw to go to any of the places in there. It just seems easier and more appealing to go south into the old market, even if it is a slightly longer walk.

My son played 3 of his 5 games this weekend at this outdoor rink in Rosemont (Chicago), Illinois. It reminded me a lot of the Capitol District but it had a full sized hockey rink in it.

Omaha's Capitol District had a small temporary rink for a year to two, but this was a full sized rink with a built in chiller system to keep the ice going. When its not winter, the walls are removed and the roll out synthetic grass. and have concerts and what not on it. It was really cool to see. The also validated the parking for the player's families.

Night Game was Omaha VS Columbus, OH, who called the Omaha Fans "Hillbillies" and the day game was Omaha VS St Louis.

Here’s me coaching in Rosemont in January 2020. It snowed the morning of our game. That was our bench, I am furthest from the camera with hand outstretched.

That's funny. Columbus is in Southeastern Ohio, and close to Appalachia, home of the real Hillbillies. There are more than a few people from the hillbilly homeland who've settled in Columbus

Their football stadium is a horseshoe. Hard to get more hillbilly than that.

Yeah it was crazy. Our players we kind of using the snow as a chair back on the bench at times and for the extra stick in stead of standing it behind the bench, they just had to lay them on top of the snow. Was cool in that we had planes coming right over us. Such a unique experience.

Was good to here Kristi Anderson talking about the Capital District on Grow Omaha this weekend. Really liked to here here talk about "activating" the courtyard area.

It has so much potential but seems to be largely underutilized and marketed. Just doesn't have the activity or buzz like comparable areas in the Railyard in Lincoln or P and L in KC.

I still think they need to add some lighting and neon type signs pointing the public in there. I think it gets bypassed by people unfamiliar with the area.

Yeah it definitely is underutilized. I have walked through there so many times and there is nobody there. Most of the time would probably be after Creighton games, so it is usually colder. Maybe it is more busy during warmer months. That is the downside to having the buildings on Capitol fill that space in...it is even harder to see that there is a space in the middle.

Went to the Jewel jazz club with a small group this past weekend(beautiful club but really out of the way). The complex seemed a little dead——maybe it was a little too cold for the courtyard. Nice complex, though.

Being so walled in really does the district no favors, particularly on the 10th street side. Had there been a grander entrance right on the corner of 10th and Capitol I think it would attract more foot traffic. The current entrances just aren’t particularly enticing. Being Capitol Ave oriented when Capitol Ave is already a bit of a pedestrian void was a mistake
