The parking lot is big enough, they could stand to fill it with at least a couple of nice restauarants as well... break up the concrete monotony (when you think about it, there really isn't much in this part of Millard... at least as far as the Appleby's and Chili's scene is concerned).

I just happened to go by there today:
(Notice the will be dividing the parking lot at least to the north and west of the building)

I saw them putting in the sign last night. It was pretty cool to watch them work. Sorry no camera, and it was to dark anyway. Thanks for the phot update Coyote.

That looks like a median that they are putting in as they rip up the parking lot - could this be due to Omaha By Design???! Hopefully some decent sized trees will be planted in there.

Well if Omaha by Design is effecting it then they should have a little nicer lighting scheme to go with the landscaping.

This looks like it's going to be a fun place for kids/families.
Also, this may be trivial to most, but I think it should have been "the Incredible Pizza Machine" instead of Amazing. Better cadence with incredible.

I don't know, Amazing Pizza Machine has a Willy Wonka appeal to it.

I'm not sure I like the black facade. It looks very incomplete and doesn't match the rest of the "plaza."

I agree - it looks very stark and out of place for Millard Plaza.
I hope they have a better facade planned.

Black? It's purple. I kinda like it, makes it stand out and catches your attention.TitosBuritoBarn wrote:I'm not sure I like the black facade. It looks very incomplete and doesn't match the rest of the "plaza."

OK - First thought - I can't fathom them leaving the rest of Millard Plaza looking like that. Being a business owner, I would think that The Amazing Pizza Machine wouldn't have even worked a deal out for that space unless it's planned that the rest of the plaza will be brought up to at least the 1990s!
And, I stopped by the TAPM website and they now have a date of April 28th posted as their opening. Things must have moved faster than they had expected, since I tought originally they were thinking of a May opening.

The news was showing the job fair last night. It was the first time I saw the inside of the place. It looks really nice and much more polished then I had envisioned. I might swing by next week and ask If I can take some pictures.

Newly installed curbs in the parking lot

I wonder what this means?

The sign has been lit up for over a week now. Wow does it stand out, holy cow. Driving south on Millard Ave at nite, this building really pops and gives some life to the area. Sorry, no pictures

The Amazing Pizza Machine near 139th and S Streets has a buffet, rides and scores of other games in 65,000 square feet. It follows Dave and Buster's and In Play as the area's latest entertainment-restaurant business to compete with video game centers and traditional food outlets.
The Amazing Pizza Machine has big-screen televisions, a karaoke stage, private party rooms, a cartoon theater, glow-in-the-dark golf, bumper cars, race cars, about 140 games and 10 amusement-park-like rides.

Anyone get really tired of the OWH Watermarks? I understand watermarking images, but c'mon. Any other online news agencies watermark images that much?

If its nice to see the 3 again go to http://www.nascar.com and check out Jr's paint scheme this weekend at talladega. It would have been his dad's 55th birthday this sunday, the car looks great.Coyote wrote:I am sure that car is still being disected in some undisclosed location.

Make no mistake... this isn't "Dave & Buster's" or "inPlay"... it's "Chuckie Cheese" on steroids... but it's a very nice establishment. I'm sure teenie boppers will enjoy it too (think Gizmo's)... although you're not going to find folks enjoying a beer over blacklight bowling after work here.
And I knew these guys were out of Lincoln, but I didn't realize that it was bankrolled by the Valentino's people (or that's what I heard anyway).

^Yep, it was in one of the earlier articles. Good point Jeff, although they all offer food and entertainment, they do cater to different crowds.

I see that The Amazing Pizza Machine was applying for a Liquor License to sell beer, wine and distilled spirits. I was there today and a friend said that she would go there more often if they could have beer or wine.
This place is a deal. All you can eat for $8 - and I guess you can keep going back. We were there for 4 hours - ate first - then went back for dessert before we left.
You can get 100 points for $20 which can last for some time as you can see. You can win 'tickets' at some of the games which can be redeemed for prizes in the end. One youngster won 1100 tickets and went home with a lava lamp (I didn't know they were cool again).
