The Nebraska volleyball program and the Big Ten Conference announced the 2025 schedule on Wednesday. The Huskers will play 30 matches – 20 against Big Ten opponents and 10 against non-conference foes.

The schedule features eight matches against teams that finished in the top 10 of the 2024 AVCA Coaches Poll.

Before the season officially gets underway, Nebraska will have its annual Red-White Scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 9 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The Huskers will also hold an Alumni Match at the Devaney Center on Saturday, Aug. 16.

Nebraska's season begins with the AVCA First Serve Showcase at Pinnacle Bank Arena, where the Huskers will play Pittsburgh on Aug. 22 and Stanford on Aug. 24. NU will head to Nashville the following week for a road match at Lipscomb on Aug. 29 and a neutral-site match against Kentucky on Aug. 31 at Bridgestone Arena as part of the Broadway Block Party.

NU returns home for the Ameritas Players Challenge against Wright State (Sept. 5) and California (Sept. 7), and the Big Red will host the Husker Invitational the following weekend, facing Utah (Sept. 12) and Grand Canyon (Sept. 13).

In the final week of non-conference action, the Huskers will travel to Omaha to play Creighton at the CHI Health Center on Sept. 16 and will host Arizona on Sept. 20.

The Huskers open conference play at home with matches against Michigan (Sept. 24) and Maryland (Sept. 27). NU begins a stretch of six of nine matches on the road in October at Penn State (Oct. 3) and Rutgers (Oct. 4). After an Oct. 10 home match against Washington, Nebraska will travel to Purdue (Oct. 12), Michigan State (Oct. 17) and Michigan (Oct. 19).

The Big Red faces Northwestern (Oct. 24) and Michigan State (Oct. 25) at the Devaney Center before a road match at Wisconsin on Oct. 31. NU begins November at home against Oregon (Nov. 2) and Illinois (Nov. 6), then heads into a stretch of three straight road matches at Minnesota (Nov. , UCLA (Nov. 14) and USC (Nov. 15).

A home tilt against Iowa on Nov. 20 precedes a road match at Indiana on Nov. 22. And Nebraska will end the regular season at home with a Black Friday showdown against Penn State (Nov. 28) and the regular-season finale against Ohio State (Nov. 29).

Looks like Volleyball will be undergoing reseating for the 2026 season, along with some limited seating expansion for Devaney

Seating will increase to 10,000 plus. Believe the current is about 8,300

Wonder what kind of heartburn the reseating will create?

Anytime you do a reseating there will be some hurt feelings and upset season ticket holders, but in today's world, it's kind of necessary.

We got bumped after a reseating by the Mavs after their first year at CHI (we had been season ticket holders since the inaugural season). Long term it wasn't good for UNO. We went from having 8 season tickets for 4 couples to 4 tickets for 2 couples. It was poorly done and horribly timed by UNO. They did it right as the team put together their worst seasons.

I imagine once the Memorial Stadium renovations get done eventually, that the volleyball reseating will be a preview of that.

I don't believe that's accurate. They have reseating as they have made changes but rank and file season ticket holders are not subject to reseat every year. It has happened in the last few years as they remodeling and the seating changes. Here's one article on it:

"Goff said as far as the upcoming 2024-25 hoops season, because of “a new seating configuration in Allen Fieldhouse, we will be re-seating that venue for the 2024-25 men’s basketball season with a few exceptions. Season ticket holders meeting the following criteria will be entitled to keep their same seat provided that they maintain the same donor level for the 2024 fund drive year: 1.) donate at the Hall of Fame Level. 2.) have cumulative lifetime giving of at least $575,000 or 3.) point totals ranking in the top 100 accounts. All other season ticket holders will be assigned a time to participate in Select-A-Seat later this summer.”

Really tough loss last night. I was only able to catch the last set, at which point Andi Jackson had already been benched and did not play the entire set. She's viewed as one of the top two players in nation by her peers but it sounds like she had a very off night (probably her first of the year). Bad timing for that to happen and it contributed to A&M to gaining momentum throughout the match.

Rough way to finish. Campbell Flynn is lost before Friday's game with a broken finger. Allie Czech steps on a ball at the end of warmups before Sunday's game (and ends up in a walking boot). Also sounds like a flu bug was working it's way through the team. Bummer finish to the season.

I thought about that too, but if they get this scheduled sooner rather than later, this shouldn't be an issue. Creighton doesn't even have any dates scheduled for next year let alone 2027.
