Bout as good of a performance in the second half as you could get. Shame they shot so poorly in the first.

Yeah the first 2/3 of the game they really got outplayed. The comeback was impressive but anytime you dig yourself that big of a hole, you leave little to no margin of error.

I wasn't there but the crowd sounded fantastic on TV.

Hopefully they don't continue to lose to ranked teams... otherwise it's like they're following in football's footsteps.

They need to be able to handle ranked teams, at home or on the road.

They are not following the football pattern. They have beaten more ranked teams than they lost to, and in those losses they have been very competitive ( except for the first part of this last game)

Anyone who thought this team would be undefeated is crazy. The maskeball season is a marathon and not a sprint.

Look at last night. In addition to the Huskers losing ( to a ranked team), Illinois and Iowa State both lost, too.

Yeah we have beaten 2 teams that are currently in the top 10 in basketball (Michigan State and Illinois).

I would like to change my post. In light of tonight's video evidence, the moper can stay, the huskers need to find better fans...

You can argue they should have played a full 40 min, but when a team claws back and has a chance to win at the end, but has that opportunity ripped away by a stupid fan, that's just sad.

Nebraska beats Northwestern 68-49. They were only up 28-27 at the half, but certainly came alive in the second.

Thought this was pretty cool and speaks volumes to the culture Fred has built in Lincoln. Selfishly would love to see Nick back in Lincoln this off season or next (it happened with Jamarcus....)

Wow Nebraska sure is getting screwed in the last 2 min by the refs. Several calls all against the Huskers, and they also have won 2 challenges in the game that were easy to see even without review.

That has to be the first time Nebraska has lost a road game in men's basketball (obviously), and the fans of the winning team stormed the court.

I forget who said it but apparently Rhode Island stormed the court when they beat Nebraska around 2015.

I have a lot of complaints about that game I’ll keep to myself. Still a great year and I think they will be in a good position for the tournament.

5 for 24 from three pretty much sums it up. This team lives and dies by that stat line.

They definitely started off the year stronger - they've been struggling these past few weeks. Unfortunately they'll likely fall from the top 10 after this loss.

I suspect that only really having a seven-man rotation is catching up with the team, too

All that said, the other three losses are OK losses. Let's see how it plays out. There is a lot in front of them to play for.

Definitely the only time a Big 10 team stormed the court against us (and I can't imagine it happened in the Big 8/12 either, though if memory serves court storming wasn't as popular then).

They definitely were ready to see Pryce. The students chanting F@ck Prye Sandfort started during pregame warmups and continued through out. Their regular fans booed him through out.

Yeah I knew there would be some animosity towards him but didn't think it would be that bad considering the Sandfort boys had put in 6 years between them in for the Hawks, and are pretty well known in the state as they had quite a bit of success growing up and playing in the Des Moines area. Plus he only transferred after a long overdue coaching change.

Yeah it sucks that after the second successful challenge you can't continue to challenge until incorrect. Wasn't thrilled with the officiating but felt this is the worst we played all season.

I haven't watched a ton of Husker ball this year, but I do love how they play together as a team. Hoiberg, although undersized, did an outstanding job guarding Stirtz last night. There were so many times he would get to the loose ball and no one else was paying attention (otherwise he would have probably had a few more assts and steals) I am definitely looking forward to the rematch in Lincoln in about 3 weeks)

The two calls I hated were the over and back. It appears on replay they got that wrong. The really bad undisputed call though was with a minute left when they called Reink when we had the ball. He was set and didn't move.

The announcers full admit Iowa got lucky on that call. Oh well on to Penn State at home.

There was also the no-call on Iowa when their guy jumped up and landed on the Husker who was trying to box out. That 100% is a foul. Could have got someone hurt. They reviewed for flagrant and decided for a no-call. There was also another review for a flagrant but nothing was called.

That call on Mast, especially at that moment in the game, was ridiculous. I still would love if you could review fouls, although it wouldn't have mattered bc Nebraska was out of challenges. Just hope the refs are the same way against IA when the game is in Lincoln.

The Hawkeyes got a heavy dose of assistance from the officiating crew last night. The “foul” on Mast was ridiculous..but there were several other calls in the 2nd half that went Iowa’s way and I’m thinking W T F are they looking at; because I’m not seeing the same game..

Iowa played well, especially on the offensive glass so I give them credit.. But the Huskers got jobbed by the refs too..

And it was obvious…

I agree and I'm saying this with an unbiased opinion, but even the commentators mentioned at least 2-3 times throughout the game that Iowa caught a break.

I heard something from Matt McMaster before the Iowa game. I don't listen to him much but he did bring up an interesting point (not sure if he saw it somewhere or came up with it on his own). He was talking about Braden Frager before and after his ankle injury. Said since his ankle injury he's shooting way more of his shots from 3 point range vs driving to the hoop. He said one of the games every shot he took was from the outside. Said it's a possible sign that he's still not able to drive and push off like he could prior.

Something to watch for going forward. If we are to make a run we need him at or near 100%.

Nebraska’s Pryce Sandfort was named to the 2026 Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Men's College Player of the Year Late-Season Team on Thursday. The junior forward is one 30 players now in contention for the award, as Sandfort has helped Nebraska to a 22-4 record and a No. 9 national ranking. Sandfort is one of seven Big Ten players on the 30-member list.

He was out of practice on Thur. Back Friday. Did the early shoot around and then was back in the locker room throwing up before the game

The hidden positive is that Frager got a start and played over 20 Min. Curtis and Garcia also saw a lot of playing time, and this could be valuable time as the conference and NCAA tournaments approach.

A little bit of lost momentum in the middle of the second, but overall a satisfying win. Sanford was on fire for most of the game, ending with a career high 33

Now we need to see, then rinse and repeat on Wed night against Maryland
