Google Data Center and Power Generation Plant

Google proposes Nebraska data center requiring more power than all of Lincoln

https://flatwaterfreepress.org/google-p ... f-lincoln/
flatwaterfreepress.org wrote:Google is considering building a data center in Nebraska that could require more than three times the amount of power the entire city of Lincoln uses at peak demand in the summer.

The tech giant would power that massive data center — possibly the largest in state history — through a privately built utility-scale natural gas plant potentially capable of producing more power than the largest power plant in the state. And it would use carbon capture technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

This would be wild, I've heard rumors of a massive project coming in Sarpy County and this would probably fit the scale described to me.

Edit - Nevermind, I missed that they are buying land options in Gage, Lancaster, Otoe, and Cass counties.

If this and the rare earth mine (which apparently is still progressing) both get built that is some major development in the SE part of the state.
