Cornerstone Condos (1101 Harney St)

Post by skip »

Spaces above Jams converting to condos.

Will be the first condos going to market in downtown proper for quite a while.

Awesome.

But without really thinking of where this was I got super excited that this was the 10th lot, and we were finally seeing something to go vertical for families downtown in a long while.

I'm surprised the upper floors of this building weren't residential or something already. How many older buildings are left in the area with un or underutilized top floors? I'm curious to see how much they'll end up selling for. It'll be nice to be steps from the streetcar as well.

I know one floor was used for an event space. Other floors may have already been apartments, but I'm not sure.

Isn’t this the Cornerstone apartments? That’s what is above Jams. I lived there when I first moved back to Omaha. They’re really good spaces and the building has heated underground parking.

There are some nice pictures from the apartment listings. https://milestoneomaha.com/property-item/cornerstone/

Yeah the ones that are apartments, will be transitioned to condos. Sounds like they are going to be more on the luxury side.

Event floor will be turned into luxury condos as well.

$500 a square foot. Those images just look like renderings. No actual photos.

Jeff Beals from Grow Omaha and I toured this building yesterday. Great project in a cool old building. Those brick arches in the restaurants below are not the only brick arches in the building! Should have the photos finished soon.

In the mean time, here is one from the Roof.

Clearly the nicest / most uniform ones appear to be in the model unit.

Some of the other ones appear to be crumbling and or painted over in some of the lesser finished units. Will be interesting to see how they handle disintegrating brick (having owned a loft myself, I can tell you its a never ending fight against dust this creates), or where some is painted white/some not. Is that part of the character they'll leave, or will they try and strip/power wash all to bare brick, and chance further brick breakdown? Or paint it all in an attempt to seal, and lose some of the character?
