Watched the Kentucky vs West Virginia final last night. West Virginia wins at home on a walk off. After the game they showed the players and fans all arm in arm singing Country Roads. Such a cool tradition there. Even better considering the stakes.

Props to ESPN for staying with it (the game to follow, USC at Texas aTm was already going) and showing the celebration in its entirety. Not sure there is a better tradition in college sports.

I am 100% on the WVU bandwagon. I think their fans will be a lot of fun in Omaha if they make it.

Have one guaranteed Cinderella too with one of Troy and Little Rick guaranteed to make it.

How do you suggest they do it when 5 of the final 8 are SEC? Besides, it's all about the bracket and seeding just like anything.

Not a very impressive tournament for Big Ten baseball. Southern Cal had by far the closest chance of making the CWS, but they lost in painful fashion in the bottom of the 9th to North Carolina.

I think I will root for Ole Miss, since they were in the Lincoln regional. Second rooting interest: anybody but Burnt Orange.

The entire CWS feels like its a week earlier than previous, not sure why... Instead of the 2 usual Father's day early round games, its now championship weekend, with only 1 game.

This is going to make it tough for many of the locals that have this as a tradition to go with their fathers to a game...

Here's a CWS fantasy: Nebraska making it to the College World Series and reaching the finals where they play Miami for the national championship. Could you imagine that happening?

It won't happen this year. But maybe in the future, it will.

Memorial Day seemed like a week earlier, which made the countryside art fair a week earlier. Summer arts should have been last weekend but the pushed it back for some reason and now the CWS is a week early. Just the way the calendar worked out this year where everything is a week early.

Saw a clip where they did the usual, asking players things about Omaha. Yesterday, it was the metro population. Are people really that stupid? Several of the players said 20,000-40,000. One of them even said that he didn't think there would be any buildings.

The shot counter is not accurate for counting how many fans are here. I know the guy from Raisin Canes that is an LSU fan buys thousands by himself:

West Virginia beat Troy 7-5 in Game 1 of the CWS. So West Virginia will face the winner of Game 2 and Troy is forced into an elimination game.

Oklahoma just shut out Alabama 9-0 in Game 3. So they'll face the winner of Game 4 while Alabama is forced into an elimination game. Game 4 will be Texas vs. Georgia.

Troy beat Ole Miss 12-8 in an elimination game. They were down 6-2 in the 5th, but came back to win it. This is their first win in the College World Series. I don't know who they'll face in their next game. As for Ole Miss, they’re out. Their season has come to an end.

Went to the Troy - Ole Miss game. The balk really changed the direction of the game and made it much more interesting.

North Carolina beat West Virginia 5-2 in Game 5 (or is it Game 6?). So West Virginia will face Troy in an elimination game and North Carolina will face the winner of that game on Tuesday.
