meh, they are still stupid.

Sure, one kid said like 700k (closer) and one kid said 2M, but by-and-large, kids today don't know many of the simpler things that you'd learn in geography or question from your own curiosity like we did back in the day. heck, they even have google in the palm of their hands and don't care to look things up. Here's a story that supports my assertion: my father-in-law said he could write a check to someone that was selling him something and the 19-year-old kid said that he had never even *seen* a check before. Like, come on...

You do realize that these types of things are all set up to report the outliers. The 10 plays that give a reasonable response will end up on the edit floor

That is a decent article, but I can't stand when people can't get facts correct. The author stated that Eppley is a small airport with 8 gates, which we know is not true. That would be a really tiny airport.

Texas just beat Alabama 14-2 in the elimination game. So Texas stays alive and will face the winner of the Oklahoma/Georgia game. Alabama is out. Their season comes to an end.

Oklahoma just beat Goergia 4-3. So Georgia will face Texas in an elimination game. And Oklahoma will face the winner of that game.

Not sure about Saturday, but Sunday and Today had new Public Address Announcers on the mic at Schwab for the MCWS. Apparently Bill Jensen is preparing to retire after 25+ years.

Never heard who Sunday was, but today was the Legendary Jake Ryan.

yeah, i mean i get it. Maybe I'm being cynical because i have two teenage boys and many of them seem to be in the same vein. I guess what boggles me is that, generally speaking, we have easier access to more information than any time in human history and there are still people that are completely oblivious to the world outside their door. But I do understand the same old tropes about Omaha/Nebraska ("I thought it'd be all cornfields" and the like) and they are exploiting it to get people like me to comment about it on facebook, reddit, or even a city development forum

Troy baseball team reports $35,000 in camera equipment stolen at CWS

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Troy University reported about $35,000 in camera equipment stolen from the team bus over the weekend.

A spokesperson for Troy University Athletics said the items were discovered to be missing at about 10:45 a.m. Sunday, when the bus arrived at Charles Schwab Field ahead of the 1 p.m. game against Ole Miss.

According to the Omaha Police report, the Arrow charter bus had been parked at the Hyatt hotel on 12th Street since 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

A spokesperson for the team told police the equipment had been secured in the storage compartment when it wasn’t in use, and that the bus had only traveled between the hotel and the team’s CWS practices and games since arriving in Omaha.

Baseball is crazy. Texas scored 14 runs on Monday and 0 runs on Tuesday. Troy scored 12 runs on Sunday and 0 runs on Tuesday.

Anybody catch the afternoon game? I didn't get to see it until the 8th and there were a ton of empty seats. It was a nice day out. Was it fuller earlier in the game and people left because it was a blowout?

Oklahoma just beat Georgia 11-4. They move onto the finals where they'll play North Carolina. Georgia is out. Their season's over. So it's going to be North Carolina and Oklahoma playing for the national championship. It starts Saturday.

Possibly a factor but there were just a ton of empty seats. More so than normal for an afternoon game.

Yeah, I think OU was more highly regarded when the season began but I believe they are a pretty young team. I think heard on one of the previous games that their starting staff was mostly/all freshman? Not sure if they had any bulk injuries that plagued them during the year or not. Then they finally put all together just prior to the SEC tournament starting.
