As an aside, sure it's not the Swim Trials at the same time as the CWS, but DTO can really handle events. That is another few thousand people thrown into the mix of the CWS opening day and it was no problem at all. Downtown was buzzing last night from the Old Market to GLM to Steelhouse to the stadium. Really awesome what is going on in the city.
It was beautiful to hear some conversations of the CWS attendees making comments about how nice the GLM is and talking about the two other parks, which are about to open.

There was also a Christian concert on GLM on Saturday night, it was packed with people too, with popup stands selling all sorts of flashy lighted items.

The outdoor area looked to be all ripped up today when I drove by so guessing they’ve started construction on the new outdoor venue.

Maybe they meant the little outdoor stage and greenspace next to the Tenaska Center? I’m not sure unless I missed an announcement.

No, Steelhouse is getting its own outdoor space

Article and photos don't help much. So they added a bar, redid the seating, and there might be records playing (from Homers)? And it's only open during events happening inside?

I’ve been to quite a few shows at the venue and I can say there are probably a couple dozen people on the patio at all times during a show. This just makes it a more comfortable area and they can sell a few more drinks while people are out there.

it looks like a fun area even to stop by and have a drink if you weren't at a show. There was a place like that in NYC that we stopped at and it was great.

It’s too bad this attractive venue isn’t open every day in good weather, to anyone over age 21.
