The primary permit calls for interior partitions, so I agree that the bay is probably getting split up.

Awesome - first in-line Mega Saver coming to the metro...

JK - At least I hope that's not true. I suppose they could drop gas pumps in the parking lot somewhere like Bakers tends to do. However, I would find this highly unlikely.

I'm actually surprised Mega Saver hasn't snatched up some of the empty CVS locations, like the one across the street from Baker Square.

Right! I guess Spirit Halloween must pay top dollar 2-3 months out of the year for these spaces.

O'Reilly's could be moving their hub store or maybe putting in a mega-hub store.

Autozone has a mega-hub store in the old Fareway space that was near 90th and Maple.

I thought the Advance Auto Parts by I-80 and I street was a huge store. Nope, you walk in and there’s a counter and a wall behind it. Pick ups only.

O'Reilly's hub store is really hard to get to, and even hard to spot from time to time. Their hub store is off of 96th and J which is north of L. Before this location, the hub store was 50th and K.

I have seen things in stock for that Advanced Auto that some other Advanced Auto part does not have. I thought that would have been hub store, but that does not sound like a hub store.

Did this O'Reilly Auto Parts open yet? I usually hit the one on 96th and L, but would use this one too as I go by there frequently.

It is somewhat surprising to me that the auto parts stores keep adding locations. As vehicles have "progressed," it has become increasingly difficult for the at-home mechanic to do things that used to be simple projects.
For the record  NEBUGEATER does not equal BUGEATER    !!!!!!!

They sell a lot of cleaning products and accessories too. I think there has been a re-birth in the car community. Not necessarily the classic hot rods that were popular in the 80's and early 90's with the bright fancy paint jobs and super shiny clear coats. The new boom seems to be more people my age and a little younger wanting to have fun weekend drivers from their dad's generation. The 1970's and early 80's Chevrolet "Square Body" trucks and some of the same generation Ford trucks are super popular right now. The new boom doesn't seem to care about paint and body work as much, its more just for fun.

I spend most of my waking hours thinking about or doing something with cars.

Orielly's/Napa/Autozone/Advance are the Megasavers of the car parts world. They are pure margin maxing businesses that survive on suckers who don't know where else to buy or if you are elbows deep in a tranny and you ran one quart short.

Example: A single bag of gear oil at Avance is nearly $10 higher vs. Walmart across the street. Same item. A few weeks ago, I was dropping on my used oil, and a young lady needed 3 wipers for her newer CRV. The counter guy gladly stuck her for $88, where you could buy a better item, at costco, next door, for $35 all in. I wanted to intervene, but didn't want to create a scene.

You can almost always buy a better part online through a reputable retailer or through a discount dealer part distributor. And you know what, if you develop a repeat buying pattern at the dealer counter, they often will extend a small discount.

If you want to buy local, there are options too. One of my favorite is this guy for detail products:

I’ve been going to First Detail Supply at 10179 J St. They carry the good stuff from Koch Chemie, Rupes, Griot’s Garage (polishers and pads), 3D, P&S, etc and they’re usually cheaper than Amazon.

FDS was Rick's original shop. He has since started his new shop after he sold this to his son. They do have a good mix of product, but availability has been hit or miss lately. I really like Ricks new Double Diamond line, especially the trim black.
