I don't think anyone on here has ever implied that Mega Savers attract interesting customers....

And they don’t even sell delta-8 and other THC products there as it’s illegal in Iowa.

This could be pure coincidence. However, I do find this story a bit telling about the way they operate their business:
https://www.wowt.com/2026/08/19/vehicle ... r-station/
Other than a quick drink or something like a candy bar, I wouldn't purchase anything from this place. With that being said, I have yet to do that. I'm guessing they do not purchase their gasoline from the highest-quality suppliers, unless the water entered their tank on the property itself. And, if it did, that's a bit scary as that means they probably have a breach in the tank.
To be fair, I remember someone claiming the Amoco at 50th & Dodge having diesel in one of their non-diesel tanks and a guy filled up his Ferrari there. For some reason, I recall it may have been someone very well-known.

So where are they getting their fuel that is different than any other station in the area? Serious question.djc311 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2026 1:15 pm This could be pure coincidence. However, I do find this story a bit telling about the way they operate their business:

With all the rain, it is almost a sure thing that rainwater runoff entered the tanks, and the cap wasn't put back on correctly. Likly by the deleivery service.

Honestly, not sure - perhaps it arrives in a Mega Saver fuel truck that's selling vapes, CBD products and burner phones out the back?nebugeater wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2026 1:26 pmSo where are they getting their fuel that is different than any other station in the area? Maybe it comes from the same places HyVee, QuikTrip and Maverick get it from... like I said, it could be pure coincidence and maybe someone didn't do their job when capping the tank. I would hope that a storage tank that probably holds 50,000 gallons or more of fuel wouldn't be easily susceptible to water entering a tank through a cap that someone didn't put on correctly.
Hopefully it doesn't cause permanent damage to anyone's vehicles for the company's sake along with the car owners. I know when the diesel thing happened it required an engine replacement.

A typical tank will likely hold 10 K to "maybe" 15 K gallons at a normal station.djc311 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2026 1:42 pmHonestly, not sure - perhaps it arrives in a Mega Saver fuel truck that's selling vapes, CBD products and burner phones out the back?nebugeater wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2026 1:26 pmSo where are they getting their fuel that is different than any other station in the area? All fuel to the area comes from the same pipelines and distribution point. The only difference is the additive that is added at some stations, which is as much marketing as anything.
If the tank is not capped correctly (and that should never be the case, but it can happen), heavy rain and runoff can get water into the tank. It should be rare, but it does happen. A lot of water can enter in a hurry through a =/- 2" opening

They stopped selling CBD products about a year ago.djc311 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2026 1:42 pmHonestly, not sure - perhaps it arrives in a Mega Saver fuel truck that's selling vapes, CBD products and burner phones out the back?nebugeater wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2026 1:26 pmSo where are they getting their fuel that is different than any other station in the area? Eh, the fact that this has happened before at other locations says that its a them problem. They seem to like locating in flood plains too.
