Bosselman Pump & Pantry (Multiple Locations)

Post by nebugeater »

Interesting move by HyVee. They are selling 21 Fast and Fresh convenience store locations to Bosselman Pump & Panty. Two are in the Omaha area. Given the recent growth they have done in locations not right at a Hyvee Store, this is a bit of a surprise.
15 of the stores will be in the Des Moines area, two in Davenport, one in Marion, as well as two in the Omaha, Nebraska area and one in Lakesville, Minnesota
The two in our area are:

20410 George B Lake Parkway, Omaha, NE
20310 Vinton Street, Omaha, NE

These are both stores located between Elkhorn and Gretna

The grocery stores/big box stores that sell gas usually just have a fuel island. Maybe Hy-Vee is realizing this and unloading c-stores that aren't profitable. They can just collect rent on the ground and let someone else assume liability over operations.

Possibly but if I am reading this correctly it sounds like they are just getting rid of the ones that aren't located with an existing Hy Vee store footprint. It says only 2 in the Omaha area. All of their c stores that are located with the grocery stores weren't sold I believe. So it looks like they are being sold not rented for the ones they are getting rid of.

I believe you are correct. I read another story out of Iowa this weekend that they were unloading all the free-standing stores and none that were at a grocery location

I was in one of the West Omaha fresh and fast standalone locations today. I noticed it was kind of empty inside and I asked the one guy working when they’re changing names and he said just a few more days.

I see they also received their electrical permits to change out the signs last Friday.

I didn't go look now, but I remember some of the reports I read from Iowa saying that the transition should take place in July. Only two weeks left for that to happen. Doesn't mean all the signs will be permanently replaced in that time frame, but hand over and banners may get it done.

The Conversion near the ACX Theater is now underway. (Hwy 6 & George B Lake Parkway) When I drove by about 4 PM on Wed the place was blocked off and the number of vehicals parked a ways from the building was a LOT. They were working on the pumps and the exterior signs. Looked like a lot of people were in the store, and there was a large roll-off dumpster in front of the store.

(crazy note: the place is actually going to be called Pump and PANTRY ;)! )

Inside is the same layout for now and they are still using the kitchen area. However they have added a lot of blue and yellow graphics all over the interior. Some of the coolers are still empty.

Wonder if they'll get the Cinnabon cinnamon rolls in their kitchen?
