That's a beautiful photo that tells many stories. There are still many parts of the world that have local markets and small family-owned shops that are within a short walk of home, including our condo in the outskirts of Shanghai. Last year, I made a video about the history of downtown Beatrice and its majestic buildings and streetcar lines. Even though I was born much too late to experience these busy downtowns in Omaha and even Beatrice, I feel a bit of a loss when I see what was lost.

Nice, I just examined it to confirm. The main thing I used to confirm it are the two buildings that flank 16th that are still there. Going east from there, even the historic buildings that are there today weren't build yet in this picture. Crazy to think how cyclical in nature we are even back then. Im sure those buildings were way outdated by the time this photo was taken, but wow they sure were ornate.

Incredible picture. The quality is very good. Downtown had it all back then.
