Los Angeles Angels

Post by CBJason »

Stan Kroenke, LA Rams owner, and his sports and entertainment company, are buying the LA Angels.

He will now own a team in all 4 major American sports (NFL-Rams, MLB-Angels, NBA-Nuggets, NHL-Avalanche) and Arsenal of the Premier league.

Ugh. I didn't want a reason to not like the Angels.

Fortunately, at 79, his time as owner isn't likely to be very long..

Apparently, sale price is more than the record $3.9B the Padres sold for a couple months ago.

Not really. I don't follow the NFL and the Rams had already left by the time I moved here. It's more so that the region spent millions planning for a new staidum to meet the Ram's needs, driven by what Stan said, while he had no intention of keeping the team here. Millions we don't really have to just throw away willy-nilly. Stan committed various acts of fraud and breach of contract. That said, the region won $790 million in the lawsuit. It was settled in part to avoid the suit going to trial where financial records for each NFL team owner would need to be released.
