I was at the Camp Creek Thrashers show near Waverly this morning. Since I had my camera with me, I decided to go through the wildlife safari on the way home about noon. Didn't have much of an expectation since it was relatively hot. I was wrong. There were some good views

I was wondering if they were going to build a new “Bear Canyon” type area north of the Orangutan exhibit. Last time I was there they had some heavy machinery leveling out the slopes there.

That would be great. I do miss the whole bear area. That is one thing the zoo is currently lacking. Wish we could get polar bears back.

As for pandas, don't think that is ever going to happen. Its too expensive and not worth it.

Not that I know of. We have a membership but hardly get there anymore. I definitely need to soon.

We are thrilled to care for this energetic pair, who came to us this summer from Idaho Falls Zoo. These two-year-old boys have been settling in at the Bill and Berniece Grewcock Animal Hospital and have been working with our animal experts to learn new behaviors and acclimate to their environment.

Over the next week, Mowgli and Baloo will begin to explore their newly renovated habitat in Asian Highlands. During this transition period, they may exercise their choice to take a break in their behind-the-scenes area and may not be visible during your visit. We appreciate your patience as they get used to new sights, sounds, and senses, and hope you can see them very soon!
