Anyone have any recommendations on where you could take a piece of jewelry to see it's value (appraisal)?

I think you can go anywhere really. I did Borsheims. It took them several weeks. That was post-pandemic.
Don't put the jewelry on your homeowners insurance, get a separate policy with another company.

Why

I have priced it both ways. Not a lot of value, but enough to matter. The separate rider with my homeowners is a better deal, and at least to my semi-educated review of the coverage it is equal

We've had it done at Malashock's Jewelry. Takes a few days and there's a fee.

I was told by my agent that jewelry claims can make your homeowner's insurance go up. I think our jewelry insurance is like $175 per year going through a jewelry insurance company.
