Re: Nebraska Football 2026-2027
Good win. - slow first half for offense and the defense has a lot of work to do. And I questioned, leaving the starting quarterback in when you’re up with3 touchdowns with only a few minutes left. Why risk an injury to your starting QB when the game has been decided. Even Ohio put in their second string quarterback.

I was shocked how full the stadium got during the 1sr quarter.Cermak wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 1:26 pm This has to be one of the hottest Nebraska games I can remember. At least it started at 11 and not 1pm.

They didn't play very well in the first half, but did much better in the second.

Re: Nebraska Football 2026-2027
That was by far the hottest game I have ever attended. There were a lot of empty seats but there were also a lot of people out of the sun in the concourse area for long periods of time watching the video screens.
I drank over 80 oz of Gatorade and water and sweated it all out. On a good note most people had some common sense and were not slamming beers.
At half they said the surface temp on the filed was 130 deg
As for the play performance we will see if the old standby statement that the most improvement is between game 1 and 2 is true. If not it might be a long season. Lot to be optimistic about but plenty of basic stuff that was a total fail too.

I had heard the 130 temp on the field too, saw something last night that it peaked at 140.nebugeater wrote: Sun Sep 06, 2026 7:03 am That was by far the hottest game I have ever attended. I agree, definitely the hottest game I have attended. We sit in south stadium. Never seen so many people in the concourse trying to cool off in the shade.
We have parked in Lot 19 at Haymarket Park since it was open. I was surprised how full it got. We ended up leaving early in the third quarter. I started getting a headache and have never had heatstroke, wasn’t sure if the headache was a warning sign. With the walk to the car didn’t want to chance anything. Obviously Nebraska cleaned things up some in the second half. Would have liked to be there for all of it.

For the entire first half I was having some bad deja vu. I really thought if theyre struggling with Ohio, are they really gonna even beat any big10 teams? I had em at 4-8 for a while until they took off the shades of Scott Frost era off lol.

Also, how about that sham Michigan pulled off? You'd think fan trust would be a pretty big part of the college football product. Michigan is 0-1 in my book, what a joke. Luckily with that showing, I have confidence they won't make the playoff. If they do?? Holy moly what a travesty that'll be if the Huskers somehow end up 9-3 and on the playoff bubble, only for a 9-3 Michigan to bump them out. I hope both teams do that well, and when that day comes, the committee will look at that Michigan "win". I so want to see it play out.

Yup. If Michigan is on the bubble when it's time to select the College Football Playoff, it'll be interesting to know how much of an impact that game has.Busguy2010 wrote: Mon Sep 07, 2026 3:17 pm Also, how about that sham Michigan pulled off? Since Eddie George was wrongly awarded the Heisman Trophy over Tommie Frazier, I will say Skers 95-0.Busguy2010 wrote: Fri Sep 11, 2026 10:11 pm Simply because Bowling Green lost to some team I've never heard of, im going bold. Skers 52-0

I echo 52-0, that feels right for some reason.

It’s halftime and Nebraska is leading 35-0. They’re doing pretty well.

Game's over. Nebraska won 56-7. Dominant performance from start to finish.

I grit my teeth a little because you always want the shutout... But that doesn't mean they didn’t live up to my expectations. The most notable thing I saw was Colandrea's accuracy. Against Bowling Green, sure, but accuracy beats everybody. If he can keep that up against stiffer competition, I hold a lot of hope.

I'm watching the North Dakota State/Air Force game. And North Dakota State is taking it to the Air Force. So Nebraska might have their work cut out for them next week when they play North Dakota State.

North Dakota is next week's opponent. Still, you can't take any school with Dakota in its name for granted.mrsticka wrote: Sat Sep 12, 2026 10:31 pm I'm watching the North Dakota State/Air Force game. Too bad Sam McKewon doesn’t post his postgame videos on YouTube anymore. It was kind of nice to share them here.

I watched Iowa / Iowa State on the second TV while watching the Huskers. The Iowa State performance will have just as much impact on next Saturday's game against North Dakota as the North Dakota State game will.mrsticka wrote: Sat Sep 12, 2026 10:31 pm I'm watching the North Dakota State/Air Force game. Re: Nebraska Football 2026-2027
Actually the CY-Hawk game does have a correlation. Of the 14 meetings since 2011 that Iowa had played both ISU and Nebraska, Nebraska has only beat Iowa once when they've beaten Iowa State. Nothing to do with North Dakota or North Dakota State though. Everything to do with the Heroes Game. Iowa wins it over 93% of the time when they win the Cy-Hawk. The last time we've pulled off beating an Iowa team good enough to beat Iowa State, Tommy Armstrong was QB. Not a guarantee by any means, but a pretty darn positive correlation that I hope we break.nebugeater wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2026 7:33 amI watched Iowa / Iowa State on the second TV while watching the Huskers. On a positive note, hey, at least were not the only ones sick of losing to Iowa nearly every year

Plus the band playing Amazing Grace after halftime in remembrance of the Iowa bandmember.skinzfan23 wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2026 12:40 am Tonight’s game was amazing. Didn't want to start a Nebraska football thread for 2032-2033, so here it is. Nebraska has a home and home with Notre Dame starting in 2032:
